I'd heard this on a movie's soundtrack a while back, but never knew who wrote the song until now.

That is also the theme song to the What We Do in the Shadows TV show.

Yeah, that's actually where I first heard it, in the movie. No idea why it popped up in my YouTube aggregate.

I couldn't remember if it had been used in the movie or not.

Definitely, because I've never seen the show.

The show is even better than the movie.

The show is even better than the movie. It's news to me there is a show. Coming soon: the tie-in novelization! The Broadway musical! The rock opera! The action figures! The re-adaptation into a Lego movie!

Apparently it's really good. The movie was fun. Not sure I'd be up for it as a weekly thing. But Deeky's far from the only person I've heard speak highly of the show, both locally and virtually.

It's on FX so there are only 8 or so episodes per season. And each ep is only 30 minutes.

So why does this jolly band of lunatics not have its own television show?
Inquiring chordates want to know...

You mean like us? Here? We got offers, but creative differences doomed the endeavor from the beginning. We couldn't even agree on a name for the show. I was partial to The Kobb Variety Hour, but no-one else was on board with it.

Good Lord, man. If the Osmonds can do it...

On another note. There was this girl from Chicago I was involved with once...
Editing this to add: No, it wasn't Liz.

Wait. You dated Liz Phair? I mean, I know squat about her, but I also know there are fans out there who would kill for her.

Wait. You dated Liz Phair? I mean, I know squat about her, but I also know there are fans out there who would kill for her. No, I didn't date Liz Phair, yeesh...
She's good looking, and I might if I weren't attached and had some logical reason to be in her circles*. But I am for 1, and I don't for 2, so for 3) didn't happen and ain't ever gonna happen.
No, the post is about how it's been the kind of day at work when everything that didn't break tended to get erased and I'm feeling grim and then 'Fuck and Run' came on the Intarwebz radio and reminded me of A. --who, as it happens, was a big 'ol Liz Phair fan (and also from Chicago --should have put in a disclaimer or something).
A. was one of those "almost, also ran" relationships that had a lot of drama and sometimes pops up in memory when I'm in a bad mood. I think everybody gets to have at least one of those. Most of us get to have more than one, I suspect.
*This also assumes Liz'd be into me, which is anybody's guess since I don't know squat about her, either. That said, Neko Case is happily partnered with one of her sound techs, so whothefuckknows?

Minor point of information --if I was fantasizing about rock stars in the 90's, it was usually about Tanya Donelly.
