A Thread of Its Own

I decided not to include the Sears Toughskins jeans in the regular Favorite TV Commercials thread but to give it a thread all its own.

I think we had a thread on those on the old board, but so far I have not found them in my searches I've been doing recently.  I won't waste much time
because that project is one that I want to get back to within the hour.

I'll start with a 1978 TV Guide still ad for Toughskins.  

The one I want to see the most is the old reflection in the mirror, where someone stands in front of a mirror, and makes all kiinds of gestures and movements, and then, the person in the mirror, does something different from what the mirror looker does.

There was a Toughskins jeans commercial with that theme, which I think goes way back to the Marx Brothers, and I think Lucille Ball did it once, too.  It's an old, and oft repeated show business schtick.

The Marx Brothers mirror bit was between Harpo and Groucho and was in Duck Soup. And when Lucy did it, she did it with Harpo, in homage to the DS scene.
