So...speaking of religion, ran into a woman earlier at work (who is a RN mind you), who began spouting all this nonsense about how the snout on plague doctor masks was a part of Satanic practice, along with the 6ft rule during the height of the pandemic. Furthermore, she had a genuine spiritual miracle to share. During the pandemic she developed some serious nervous condition that left her feeling awful, constantly twitching, and by one point, wheelchair bound. Well, darned if she didn't go to a revival down at the Civic Center downtown and sure enough, the faith healer put his hands on her and she felt an energy almost like electricity run through her and has been better ever since!
It's always chapped my ass how many utter idiots I've met in the nursing profession (who were obviously smarter than myself as they successfully maneuvered their way through the program). Something they stress in nursing is critical thinking, yet so many nurses accept Facebook memes as truth. It's mind-boggling to me.

Yeah, I was reading about that earlier. God bless `em! Oh, wait... You can say "God bless 'em" --they'll just assume you mean something nice but addressed it to a nonexistent deity.

Success in most academic settings is based on conforming to expectations --actually learning something is optional.

That needs to go in the quotable quotes thread.
