An old Jewish guy learns that his firstborn son is considering converting to Christianity, and he's just heartsick about it. So he goes to a friend of his for advice.
"Sam," he says, "my oldest just told me that he's thinking about becoming a Christian. How do I talk him out of it?"
"I'm afraid I'm the wrong person to ask," Sam replies. "My eldest son converted five years ago! Maybe you should talk to the rabbi."
So the guy goes to see the rabbi, and explains the situation.
"I know what you're going though, believe me," says the rabbi. "But I don't think I'm the right person to ask. My son became a Christian ten years ago, and last I heard, he was studying to be a priest, of all things! All I can recommend to you is that you pray on it. God will show you the way."
So the guy goes home and prays.
"Heavenly Father," he begins, "I beseech your guidance. My son and heir tells me he wants to become a Christian, and I don't know what to do. What can I say to him to change his mind?"
After an interval of silence, a voice like rolling thunder emanates from the heavens:
"I'm probably the wrong person to ask..."
