Anybody else planning on catching "Godzilla Minus One" in theaters next weekend? I hope to anyway. Some movies are obligatory big screen when the opportunity arises. I don't think so. I've not been in a theater in a few years. I hope your trip is fun and safe!

Interesting article on the local punk scene back in the day. I was living in Atlanta and/or working graveyard shift through much of this era, and was never a punk rocker. But was surprised/delighted to see that Aaron Cometbus lived at this punkhouse for a stretch. His "Cometbus" was/is a perzine about his life on the road and easily one of the best zines out there. Even though I had no relation to the material in my own life, the guy wrote about his day-to-day with such passion and eloquence it always made for a riveting read.

Saw this trailer for Studio Ghibli's "The Boy and the Heron" and you're damn right I'll probably be blazed when I see it.

Just started watching a series called CHILLERS hosted by Tony Perkins. It's all based on stories by Patricia Highsmith so very genteel and low-key. The very first episode features a cat named Bill who looks enough like my Sassafras to be her littermate.

Wish I could locate it through my usual means.

Ran across a cache of old Midnight Special performances from the 70's, but not sure if I need to go down that rabbit hole. I'm talking hours of stuff. Great bunch of artists, though.

Almost nothing of interest (to me) coming out next year:

It is genuinely stunning how many of those movies are either remakes or entries in series of one stripe or another.

Speaking of, a friend and I were planning on seeing "Poor Things", which should have opened a week or two ago, but I don't see it in theaters around here in the coming weeks at all.

Now the YTube algorithms have decided I want to see some Kat Williams clips. I've got real meatspace friends who are funnier just in regular conversation than that little twat.

Here is a list of people at this year's local fandom convention that I am excited about. Still not sure I will attend this year or not, but I have to admit some of these are pretty tempting names.
Barry Bostwick Caroline Munro Clint Howard David J. Skal David Naughton Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein Joe Dante Louis Gossett, Jr. Mark Maddox Mick Foley Morgan Fairchild Ron Perlman

My little sister got one of her sketches autographed last week in New Orleans, which is sort of fun I think...

They filmed the original in the next town over from me. They have an annual Blobfest to commemorate.
