I love this tiny detail about Herb.
There's probably killers we'll never find out about out there, over the years in America. Guys that did a great job of hiding the bodies until long after they were gone. Might never even figure out they were the culprits. I think I'd have a tough time living with that albatross round my neck.

Well if you were going to be all guilty about it you wouldn't have done it in the first place! I forgot Aaron Hernandez. That guy is such a head-scratcher. He caves in when they find him not guilty, and then he ices himself.

Just a lot of jokes at his expense. Do you remember any of them?

A contact has mentioned a Mexican movie with giant mutated rats and flies, and I haven't been able to locate anything like that. Anyone have any ideas from this admittedly loose description? I thought maybe "Food of the Gods" one or two, but they said those weren't it.

I should probably look up "giant rat movies" lists on IMDb and see if I can locate it that way.

Look up "I squirted when I farted" while you're at it.

Look up "I squirted when I farted" while you're at it. Close. I tried entering "I pooped when I poofed" but didn't have much luck.
I actually did try looking up "giant rat movies", but no luck. I'm imagining the giant rats weren't a defining feature of the film. You know, just a momentary thing. Like squirting when you fart.

Yeah, I looked in at those earlier and nothing seemed to match whatever this correspondent is referring to. It may remain one of those mysteries that not even the greatest of jailhouse lawyers can crack.

I thought maybe "Food of the Gods" one or two, but they said those weren't it. Do you know anything else about the film in question? Like, how big is "giant?" What sort of mutations? How sure is your correspondent that the movie is Mexican and not, say, Spanish or Brazilian? Do they remember what venue they saw it in? (It could make a big difference whether we're talking about something they once rented on VHS from an indie video store, or something they caught on Spanish-language TV in El Paso.) Even the half-decade period in which your correspondent remembers seeing it could help narrow things down.

He's really good about getting back quickly and I expect to hear from him as soon as next week in the Post. I will ask him some of your questions to see if it will help narrow the search down any.
