Monday is not only Juneteenth but the International Day For Elimination Of Sexual Violence In Conflict. I'm very unclear on how to celebrate the latter. Seriously! Like, are we supposed to invade Burkina Faso, but then pointedly not rape anybody?

June 26th is National Refrigeration Day. That must be feel very appropriate this year in Texas which is going into its 9th consecutive day of triple-digit temperatures...

Yeah, that heat dome is shifting over towards us now, too. I ran a couple of errands earlier and then decided to just hang out in my A/C/refrigerated comfort for the rest of the afternoon. the lawn can wait until tomorrow. Or the next day.

July 9th would appear to be National Barn Day. LLAMAGEDDON, anyone?

July 9th would appear to be National Barn Day. LLAMAGEDDON, anyone? Never seen it, although a coworker recommended it. Have you ever seen "Barn of the Blood Llama"? Who knew we'd be blessed with not one but two killer llama movies? It truly is a great time to be alive.

Someone from BMMB sent me a copy but the vertical hold kept letting go, and was I ever seasick by the end of the movie. I remember nothing about the story even now...

Still trying to locate a print of "Bloodsucking Pharaohs from Pittsburgh", though.

I was about to say "It's a fine day for ice cream!" but really they all are.

July 19th was World Sickle Cell Day. There's another one I don't know how to celebrate.

July 19th was World Sickle Cell Day. There's another one I don't know how to celebrate. You could go and give platelets at your local blood donation place. Takes a bit longer than a regular blood draw, but very helpful for folks with certain cancers and sickle cell disease.

It's apparently "hammock day" today, which sounds like a fine idea, except I don't own a hammock and it's off and on stormy here.
