Because the packaging for those cheap-ass public domain DVDs is usually even worse than the movies contained on them, I've started scrapping it to make my own. Here are a couple that I made for Juniper today:
This one was pretty straightforward, insofar as I just used the undoctored image from the original New Zealand one-sheet poster for the front cover, and retyped the back-cover copy from the sleeve the disc came with. This one, though, was a more involved undertaking:
First I had to erase the graphics for I Drink Your Blood that originally occupied the upper half of the front cover image. Then I had to insert material from the totally unrelated Scared to Death poster, which was never intended to be displayed as an irregular trapezoid. And finally, I had to write the all-new cover copy that this presentation of these movies deserved.
