This post takes the place of that brief pause while you eject the tape and flip it over to the other side and insert it into the deck and hit play (all of this while lane-changing in heavy traffic):
So, an idea came to me while at work today. What if we tried doing themed never-ending mixtape threads? There's thousands of tunes available on you-tube alone. We could do mixtapes(vids) like this thread, only devoted to any number of subjects! We could pick a season, or an emotion, or a certain type of person or thing. Fuck, I don't know. Sky's the limit. Just spit-balling here. I've never heard of it being done as a thread like that, although someone's likely done it on some board or other already countless times before.
Now back to our regularly-scheduled never-ending mixtape, already in progress -

Great! We should definitely comes up with one or even several different ones of those someday.
Can you think of any other caveats to the idea?
Like, maybe there ought to be time limits to the numbers? Nothing over 7 minutes, or 10, or whatever? I say that mainly to preempt my own tendencies for picking overlong numbers to listen to here in real life.

Basically how I pictured it is like, mix tape Uno or something, where there has to be some connection between the last song posted and the one you post.

I don't know that we have the requisite amount of posters to make a Uno-style video mix do-able. I was thinking more along the lines of a simple "songs about fish"-theme or something. If this is to be an ongoing thing, there's no reason we can't do single themes and a stream-of-consciousness thread. Far as I can see, you only really need two people to riff, and we have more than that. Hell, one person could do it if they wanted to, but it wouldn't have the collaborative angle to it, obviously.
Anyway, still one of the best stomping riffs I've ever heard:
