Have you ever seen that unedited documentary about the Stones with that song name for the title? I heard it was pretty crazy at points.

Small parts of it. At some point (probably when I'm done with graduate school) I really should watch the whole thing. I have about five years of movies to catch up with --and that's just the old ones.

Robert Frank's gotta be in his 90s by now, so the likelihood it'll end up showing on a big screen again are pretty much zero.
Gotta go the bootsy bootsy bootie route.

I actually have a print of it here (from a VHS boot), though I've never gotten around to watching it. Anyway, if any on board just has to have a look, you know what to do.

I too have a bootleg VHS copy that a friend bought off the street, watched once and then passed on to me. I watched a little bit of it one night, but it was boring me and I only run hot and cold with the Stones anyway. Plus, I hate rock'n'roll asshole behavior, so I didn't last long.
Speaking of rock'n'roll assholes, these guys aren't exactly that, but they're not exactly not that either. The scummy thing may have been an act for some of them, but the singer, at any rate, turned out to be a real piece of work. Santo probably knows the details better than I, so maybe he'll elucidate someday. Anyway, this is a NoCal classic:

I never thought it was quite as salacious as it was purported to be (and I first saw it back in the days when I was nowhere near as pessimistic as I am now). Although this could be my general bitterness seeping through here, as the Stones concert I was supposed to see a couple of weeks ago is being postponed until late August, when I'm going to be back in Helltucky, so it's a no go for me.

I thought it was acid, but I may be thinking of one of their songs.
Make of this what you will: Another song from the same album has him deadpanning, "The called me a murderer! They called me a junkie!", both of which he later became.

Turns out we're both wrong, but you were closer. He was fucked up on heroin when he killed her (I would never have guessed that someone in the depths of an opioid high could be so proactive!), but the two of them had been selling acid.

Roky was just coming back during the time frame I lived in Austin. A very lovely, if fragile, person as well as a mind-blowing musician.
I learned, many years after the fact, that I went to school with the son of one of the drummers who recorded with him in the 70's.

I've been slowly making my way through Blondie's catalog, and I'm now on Parallel Lines, which is definitely the album I know the best, and yet I'd forgotten just how good it is. A favorite:

Because who among us hasn't longed to hear the dulcet tones of L. Ron Hubbard.

All but one of the small number of stadium shows I've ever seen were the Dead, thanks to about half of my friends at Drew being hippies. They were a unique phenomenon; you have to give them that, even if you don't like them. Although, I would look with suspicion on anyone who couldn't see the beauty in a song such as this one:

Basically how I pictured it is like, mix tape Uno or something, where there has to be some connection between the last song posted and the one you post. I don't know that we have the requisite amount of posters to make a Uno-style video mix do-able. I was thinking more along the lines of a simple "songs about fish"-theme or something. And, though not expressly musical, I found this ted Talk quite a delight: We may be able to manage.
