Two weeks and counting with the dog. Everything is covered in slobber and hair.

Two weeks and counting with the dog. Everything is covered in slobber and hair. It could be considerably worse. In the four months or so that my brother lived with me over the winter of 2000-2001, the aforementioned TJ soaked most of my place with strangely viscous piss. He also dug a hole in my mattress.

Two weeks and counting with the dog. Everything is covered in slobber and hair. And it passes gas. A lot.

No, no. When Lee moved in with me, he brought his awful little dog. Little dogs are the worst. They're so yappy. One of the things I genuinely love about Harlow is she almost never barks unless she senses an intruder. She's quieter than the fucking cats.
I tried her out on a yard anchor lead today. Poor dear thought she was in trouble. I wanted it for situations like today, when I was going in and out with Xmas lights and the stuff to hang them up. That way she can be with me, but not in the way or running away accidentally by chasing one of the cats. I'll only use the anchor for situations like that. I won't just leave the poor dear out there like some people do.

You have probably seen the sardonic theories about how our cats are trying to kill us by weaving in between our legs going downstairs or carrying heavy loads. I tell you, it's probably truer for dogs. Harlow parks herself in the middle of halls, in doorways, right next to the bed. She may look like the goodest girl in the world, but she's a cold calculating killer.

I didn't factor double the petting time into my daily retirement plan. Speaking of dogs n' cats: The two here are getting along a wee bit better. Doubt we'll ever reach the blissful harmony of those cute cats/dogs snuggling pictures online, but I think we may avert overt bloodshed.
