On the old board, I did a thread on different video versions of "Don't Stop Believin' " of which I have not found a version that completely satisfied me. I'll start with Journey's "official" video version:

And what exactly are you looking for in a Journey video that will leave you satisfied?

Fun Fact: "South Detroit" would be Windsor, Ontario.

And what exactly are you looking for in a Journey video that will leave you satisfied? Deeky, I would be most satisfied by a video of this song, which would be pretty much a have "night time" images, and not shot day for night. It would start with the fingers on the piano keyboard, showing the characters in the order they appear in the song: the small town girl, the city boy, and the midnight train goin' anywhere. It would be have mostly a dark background with the streetlights, and the streetlight people against that background.

Fun Fact: "South Detroit" would be Windsor, Ontario. Yes, Choco, I remember first learning that Fun Fact from you on the old ZAQB, so I'm glad you again mentioned it first on the new board. Another fun fact: Pro Wrestler Larry Shreve, who performed as Abdullah the Butcher, is from Windsor, Canada.

Now, to get down to the nitty gritty of the subject at hand.
I'm glad i got a link to the video I wanted and not to a page of a lot of different u-tube selections, which the readers of the thread would not necessarily have to select from, and my telling them which image to click on.
While I have improved my computer skills in that respect, I still don't know how to get an image for readers to click on, which would make it more likely that the different versions of the song I plan to post would be clicked on and watched.

The best video of Don't Stop Believin, and so far the one most satisfying to me, was done by Black Mariah Productions, and I saw it a few years back, but can't find it now.
Tried a net search of the studio and there are quite a few Black Mariah production companies to check out, and I still might find the one I am looking for.
Another one I mentioned on the old board was by BBois Productions, and I couldn't find it last night, either.
I could find a good number of "Bois" video production companies, but none name "BBois," so maybe they went out of business.
The Black Maria version does have night time scenes, and shows a lot of the Small Town Girl and the City Boy, and the midnight train, which was good, but without being able to see it again, I can't remember exactly where I thought it needed improvement.

While I found other videoversions(forry-type word combo) of Don't Stop Believin, I decided to start my thread with the "Offical" Journey version.
It starts in broad daylight, and the Midnight Train, the Singer in the Smokay (spelled "smokey" in one lyrics video) room, and the streetlight people, and the shadows in the night are all missing.
Where is Professor Wilson Bryan Key when we need him?
Not that I am all that Gagga over that obnoxious, humorless, dogmatic know-it-all who wouldn't even politely send me a "thanks for writing" postcard after I sent him two rather well thought-out observations on Outer Limits and Oreo Big Stuf.
But, he was still good at deconstructing subliminals in still and moving pictures.

While Professor Key could give a good deconstruction of the Official Journey "Don't Stop Believin' " video, I did a very good deconstruction of Oreo Big Stuf with no help from the Professor Key, and I'll do the same with the Journey Official video.
It opens in a small town with the City Boy arriving by car at the residence of the Small Town Girl.
As he waits after ringing the doorbell, he holds a long stemmed flower behind him, over his butt crack. Not sure if that flower was a rose or not, but it reminded me of Albert Fish inserting a rosebush stem into his urethra, and someone inserting rosary beads into some bodily orifice in a John Waters film.
After the City Girl arrives at the door (I was going to say "comes" to the door, but he apprently wasn't able to make her come), he hands her the flower, which she seems to gladly accept, then drops it to the floor, slaps him in the face, and slams the door.
The poor City Boy then drives off of his car, and attempts suicide by jumping off of some high in the air structure, despite the efforts of one of his male buddies to stop him.
He winds up in the hospital, his two male buddies anxiously awaiting his prognosis.
The two buddies also kneel in front of what looks like a church building, their backs to us the viewer, but the placement of their arms and unseen in front of their butts to us viewers hand gestures look like they are peeing, rather than praying.
So, what starts out as a boy-girl story is mostly a boy-boy-boy story, until the last part of the video where the City Boy, his arm in a sling, is consoled by a mixed group of boys and girls, and I couldn't tell whether the City Girl from the beginning of the story was among that group.
Those are the most prominent things I can remember right now, and I hope that other of you ZAQB members will watch the video, and give me some of your observations.

I still don't know how to get an image for readers to click on, which would make it more likely that the different versions of the song I plan to post would be clicked on and watched. Click the red camera icon above. That allows you to put a video in your post.

Thanks for telling me how to do it, Deeky.
Here is another version that I has a few good things to it, but is less satisfying than the Official version

OK, Folks, I am attaching all I can find of the BBoisProductions of "Don't stop believin' ," a screen grab from the video as it started playing. In the top photo of the 2 photos below, you can see, in the upper right corner, that it is playing. I probably posted that photo to the old ZAQB, and possibly also a link to the video. The date on the screen grab is 02-13-16. That is now going into two years ago. And, if you look at the small print on the left of the closeup screen grab, it says "eight years ago," which in 2016 would have been 2008. So, the BBoisProduction of "Don't Stop Believin' " is probably close to 10 years ago from 2018. The caption says: "After 6 months of no videos, the original crew decided to freshup for some videos this summer . . . " I might try another net search of BBoisProductions, being carefully to get the capitalization and spacing right, although it was hard to find the link to the video even in 2016. I suppose the link could now be defunct, or if not, just lost among the overwhelming number of videos of "Don't Stop Believin' ". While I did no find the BBois version of the song satisfying, I still would like to check it out if possible to refresh my memory of it. Attachments:

Edited accidental double posting of my last post. Will use this one for my next post, if Webmaster Deeky can't or doesn't delete it altogether.

Well, you know, don't stop believing and all. On the other hand, sometimes it's best to just move on from things. Especially if you can't be bothered to look through all those Journey videos to find that certain one you remember.

Thanks for the wise advice, Dr. Kobb. I'm hopeful that whatever surfing I do thru the videos, I will find one that really does satisfy me. That 2nd one I posted, with the lyrics included, does include the train, altho it is nowhere near midnight when it is running. And, it does have a dark scene of the singer in a Smokey room.
The best one so far was definitely the Black Mariah version, which I probably watched in the Chapin City of Myrtle Beach library, probably around the same time that I watched the BBoisProductions version.
With all the net searching, there are always surprises of things I never was looking for, but am glad that I found.

My main goal now for this thread is to find the Black Maria version of Don't Stop Believing, which I am hopeful of accomplishing, but along the way my net searches have found a real ding-donger I think is worth shariing with you other ZAQBers.
