It's apparently "Festival of Sleep" day today, Friday the 3rd of January. It felt that way even before I happened across that information, but it legitimizes my being in cozy-mode today.

You really couldn't pick better daytime weather for a festival of sleep than what we've had down here today. Rainy, windy, and grey.

After roughly nine months on tenterhooks, I now officially have health insurance again.

Am I the only one secretly wishing it was Anton Lavey? That's who I thought it was. Who's to say they're not the same guy? Never mind that 50-year age gap! He thought we wouldn't be clued in enough to recognize him but we nailed it right here at ZAQB!

Hey zoms, remember when I was moping about finding an old boyfriend on a website for missing persons? Hadn't been heard from since March 2014? I was totally picturing him picked clean by buzzards in a ditch somewhere. Well, the past few days I heard "our song" on a radio while driving to appointments and I thought today, when I was looking for other people anyway, to see if there is anything new on him at Google Images.
There is! He was jugged in Maricopa County Jail almost exactly a year ago -- 1/23/2019 -- meaning that at least the Sheriff's Department knows where he is. It said the charges included "possession of dangerous drugs" so I guess I know why he was missing so long. I mentioned it to a friend at work and she had questions I didn't know the answers to, so I looked at the website for the jail itself and it said, glory be, that they jugged him again at the same jail, TODAY. So I know he is alive.
I went to the missing persons website and told them I'd found him.

Random WebGeek happiness:
It's not widely known outside of the Web programmer community, but Apple Safari has a couple of really shit-tastic "features" that might as well be bugs if you're trying to write standards-compliant code.
Specific to my job: I often have to overwrite the output from a very slow and stupid form script. When doing this, remaining compatible with Safari is usually a nightmare.
Not today. I am a clever (and persistent) reptile...

True enough, but with his insanely high IQ he should be smart enough to stay out of the jug if he really wants to. Knowing him, he needed a place to sleep.

I have to say, "Stay in Bed Day" was a raging success. I didn't really intend on sleeping/napping my way through most of it, but I certainly feel rested for the first time in literally months. I guess I needed that.

I probably don't deserve this, but it'd sure be nice if the rest of my work-week went as smoothly as my "Monday" today (Saturday, February 8th).

Is this a movie or something? Does the dinosaur get up and deliver a sermon at some point? Because I'm going to have to borrow it if that's a 'Yes'.

Is this a movie or something? Does the dinosaur get up and deliver a sermon at some point? Because I'm going to have to borrow it if that's a 'Yes'. It is a movie, and an extraordinarily dumb one. The protagonist is a priest who discovers that he can turn into a dinosaur. You never see him deliver a sermon and I consider that a genuine mercy. I'm proud to say that after I told the team I work on about this movie, they all appear to have rushed out to see it. Life is good sometimes.

Coming off a really lovely, refreshing week off from work. I must have really needed that. I'm sure they'll have me feeling all beat down and miserable in no time, but it was nice to taste a little bit of freedom again, no matter how brief.
