I don't know how many gamers we have here, but I thought I'd put this out there anyway for them and for people who might be interested. I'm kind of obsessed with the "Bioshock" series; a good friend of mine also shares this obsession, and we started creating mixtapes (yes, I'm calling it a mixtape) for each other based on the games.
For those of you who aren't familiar, "Bioshock" (well, the first two games anyway) takes place in an underwater city, where an Ayn Rand-ian business tycoon has attempted to create a utopian society away from the rest of the world. It all goes horribly wrong, of course. The city/atmosphere is very art deco, 20's - 50's, and the music reflects that.
I had a lot of fun with making the music, and a good friend of mine made some spectacular album covers for my mixes. If anyone would be interested in downloading one, or all, let me know and I'll send you links! I don't have the album covers on my work computer, but I'll post some when I get home so you get the idea.

I love Fallout, it has an Atomic Age aesthetic that is super cool. Is that an FPS? I really suck at them; Bioshock is the only shooter that I've ever been remotely good at playing. |

You can use either first person or third. Missions and story line coupled with open-world exploration and crafting. |

Those are excellent covers. I really liked the first Bioshock, although I felt like it maybe ran a little longer than was necessary. Haven't played any of the sequels, but I do love the aesthetic of the series. I'm not super into most of the "-punk" aesthetic stuff (I kind of wish steampunk would just go away), but I do really like decopunk, which is totally what the Bioshock games are.

I still haven't gotten around to playing Bioshock and I've owned it on Steam for years. I'm more a retro gamer hipster myself. In fact, in a few months at a con I go to annually I'm in charge of the retro gaming room this year, letting people play the Good Old Games. (Also I've been mostly gaming an LP series of the final fantasy games on a different forum)
That said, I too love the "decopunk" style as Count put it. And the title song. And Le Mer.
