"Night Slaves" (1970) - Decent MFTV movie about a couple who stop at a small town where everyone becomes somnambulant zombies in the wee hours. There are a couple of weak plot points if you spend too much time examining things, but all-in-all a decent show. Kind of like an extended Twilight Zone episode. I genuinely wonder if the writers of "Messiah of Evil" and Stephen King didn't get some inspiration from this one (in King's case for The Tommyknockers). I was able to figure out their big reveal character early on, but it didn't hinder my enjoyment any.

Red Water Cheap Chinese chiller about a shark menacing some stranded vacationers. You're being quite generous here. Only one mild pejorative.

Timecop This was very, very dumb. Heck, the title alone should have told you that. I'm imagining this overzealous parking meter reader. Like pepper-spray, broken bones, siccing police dog...

"The Substance" (2024) with Demi Moore. Crazed body horror with a message about the way the entertainment industry uses up and discards youth and beauty. Absolutely insane finale. Qualley, Moore, and Quaid all give solid performances.

"Learned Pigs & Fireproof Women" (1990) - Magician Ricky Jay's television version of his book of the same title. A variety of puppeteers, jugglers, math calculators and such on stage doing their acts. Was made more nostalgic because my print was from someone's VHS recording from a Sioux Falls, South Dakota broadcast, commercials intact and all.

Sliver Silly erotic thriller. The book it's based on is actually pretty good. Written by Ira Levin!

"From Russia with Lev" (2024) - An MSNBC special on the whole Trump camp plan to frame Hunter Biden in order to hurt his opponent Joe Biden's campaign. I would say that it'd be a good eye-opener for my conservative friends and relations to view, but who am I kidding? They're in to the cult too deep at this point.
"Abbott & Costello Go to Mars" (1953) - Goofy fun as the duo first think they're on Mars but are in fact in Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Amazing costume masks throughout this portion. Then, when they do try to head back to Earth, they accidentally land on Venus, which is a planet of scantily clad Amazons. Lou Costello was a comedic genius.

The pilot for the Night Gallery TV series last night. I've only ever seen a handful of these, and if this is any indication, I'm in for an entertaining month ahead. An overlooked aspect of watching these old anthology TV series' is all the actors from the era that make appearances. Steven Spielberg directs one of the three shorts, and Joan Crawford, Ossie Davis, Tom Bosley, Roddy McDowell, Barry Sullivan, Sam Jaffe and more familiar faces appear, just to name a few. Norma Crane isn't a name that leaps immediately to mind, but I thought she was great in the "Escape Route" story.

Ravenous Cannibal horror on the frontier. I liked that one. It was different. If memory serves, it was a twist on the wendigo legend, yes?
