Late Night with the Devil An okay horror thriller. That one wasn't terribly scary, but I enjoyed how well they captured the era. Host reminded me of Tom Snyder's Late Late Show.

You say that now, but wait until you see "Hellraiser 3". Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth You weren't kidding. I remember being really put out that the local mom & pop video store had a mile-long waiting list on that darn movie. Didn't get around to it until well after the initial popularity had died down. R.I.P. East Hill Video.

Swamp Thing A scientist is turned into a mutant. You know, I've still never seen that. Used to collect the comic books way back when it first launched, too.

"Hostile Dimensions" (2023) - This is one of those movies that gets so-so ratings, and I can totally understand why (dubious acting, cheap f/x, shaky-cam), but I still kind of liked the premise and what they were able to achieve on the budget.

Strange Darling (2023) - Was recommended to me, so I had a go. It's a twisted sex thriller told in six chapters, but all out of order. It's also one of those movies where if I told much more I'd spoil things. Boffo acting work by the leads (Willa Fitzgerald, Kyle Gallner) and it was cool seeing old faves like Barbara Hershey and Ed Begley Jr getting parts.

Hellbound: Hellraiser II Man, I don't know. You say that now, but wait until you see "Hellraiser 3". I've never gotten around to that one. I guess I should? Saw FLIGHT again tonight. Just needed that action sequence at the beginning. I was really struck this time by how much everyone around the protagonist kept bringing up God and Jesus and church. (Especially the copilot's oddly-intense wife. Yikes.) No wonder Whip didn't want to get sober.

"When Evil Lurks" (2023) is a really dark possession type movie with some gnarly scenes (I won't spoil things). Have you ever watched Asian horror and felt you might not be understanding all the significance of events thanks to cultural differences? Sort of similar vibe with this Argentinian flick. Apparently, the director wrote the screenplay during the pandemic, and that might have some bearing on things. It's almost like it's set in an alternate reality, which is kind of how things felt during the Covid19.

"You Are What You Eat" (1968) - Hippies doing hippie stuff. Not one but two numbers by Tiny Tim. Neither of which were Tiptoe Through the Tulips. Various scenes of kids at love fests, acid parties, surfing, riding motorcycles, protesting, and so on. Quite the document, although the print I viewed was absolute shite. It was also a little odd because I'm fairly sure audio was laid over other imagery. Sometimes it was goofy Firesign Theatre type comedy over scenes of kids at freak outs; and in one instance, I'm pretty sure they overlaid Beatles fans screaming and crying over Tiny Tim's stage act. By the way, he had the biggest schnoz I have ever seen in my entire life.
"Endless Poetry" (2016) - A surreal, autobiographical story from Alejandro Jodorowsky.
