I'm starting a special thread on this film, first mentioned on the Film Detectives thread, because I want to keep that thread focused on Ed D Louie's HIM, and not get off topic, although I think that the Maryland Censor Board was relavant to the Film Detectives thread, since we did find out that HIM was not submitted to the Maryland censor board. I think I will so more net searches on this 1970 French film regardless of its alternate titles, since it was and still is of interest to me, because of that final sex scene seeming to have been cut in the print I saw. I think the VHS releasing company I saw Summer Heat in the mid 1980s might have been Private Screenings.
Anyone remember such a video company? They just released soft X films, and no porno.

And, there was only one comment on the u-tube trailer site, which I didn't notice that I had to click on to read the rather long comment by the one commenter. I probably should join U Tube so I can comment on the videos, but very often u tube commenters get into the kind of stupid, ridiculous arguments so typical of the Net. In that brief trailer, I noticed that those white intertitles on the blue background seemed not to match the rest of the trailer, so I'm wondering if the trailer was in French, and the person who posted it to the net re-did them in English. I will say that altho I saw the film way back in 1975, at a house that was playing porno, but did play some Euro soft X imports as second features, and again seeing the film in the mid to late 1980s, probably from Private Screenings, that the images from the trailer as well as from the whole film, were really imprinted in my memories and have become a Part of Me, as I suppose happens with a lot of films we see, while, on the other hand, we totally forget a lot of films we see. And, as far as the story details of Summer heat, I really don't remember much at all. Oh well, I'll continue to study what I can find of that film, and I still think the ending scene was cut in the version I saw, although I do allow the possibility that I could be wrong about that. |

A friend of mine sent me the DVD from Cheezy Video (is that the name of the company?) of Summer Heat. Kind of complicated, but I couldn't get to the back of my desktop computer with the DVD player to plug in the exteension cord for my ear buds, so I just watched it silently.
I'm going to have to read up on this film a good bit to understand the storyline better.
But, it does seem like a work of erotic art.
After FFing thru the film, it seems to me like a contest between a father and son to see who can get laid the most.
I'll have more to say later, afer I study the plot summaries and wath the film at normal speed on the desktop DVD payer and / or from my regular DVD player on top of my VCRs on top of my old fashioned cabinet tube TV set.

Haven't done much more investigation of Summer heat since my last post, but after re-reading the film's synopsis, it was about a young guy and his uncle, rather than his father, having a contest to see who can get laid the most.
With a quick FF, for our Resident Buttologist withouot peer, Webmaster Deeky, giving the film a FF viewing, I didn't notice any bare male butts in the film only female bare buts.
As I've said and will repeat, I think this film was an attempt at creating erotic art, and is worthy of more study. I woudl like to see the original French version to compare with the US version. And, I would be very interested in exactly what cuts were made for the Maryland Censor Board to approve the film on its second submission. If there was a print of Russ Meyer's Fanny Hill approved by the Maryland Censor Board available to be put onto HVS, then possibly there could still be a print of the version of Summer Heat approved by that censor board.

Well, Deeky, since I watched it at FF speed, I could have missed it, or them, so I can't definitively say there were no bare male butts in the film, but can be more certain when I watch it at normal speed, and also with the sound, something I am doing now only with the Batman 1943 serial, 3 chapters left to go. If you watch the trailer, you can see at least one female bare butt. In the final sex scene the Nephew the Uncle is having the who can get laid the most contest with, is seen in profile with pubic hair plainly visible, but none of his male stuff, which obviously not erect, and hanging down out of view, as the lady rides him on top in the cowgirl position. An obvious (to repeat that word) simulated sex scene. However, the Uncle does do a bit of rimming with one of his ladies, not really "graphic," if that is the right word, her laying down on her belly his tonge briefly visible but mostly with his lips pressed tightly against her butt, and he does move them across her crack. |

What about when you were binge-watching Blues Clues? Dr. Kobb, the answer to that is no. I don't remember much about Blue's Clues, but I think there might have been one pose where Steve and blue looked like she was giving him a rim job. I probably have that old thread saved to CD. I'm so mixed up, I'm not sure if I've told this before here on ZAQB, but the outfit I got the Euro version of The Hellfire Club was probably Europen Trash Cinema.
I don't know if I can overcome my laziness and write down all of the Euro titles of Summer heat, to check and see if Euro Trash Cinema has it under one of those titles
or not (they don't have it under the title Summer Heat).
Altho I'm not wealthy, I'd be willing to invest a bit of $, if it's not too much to see the original French version of this film.
