Wondered if anyone here on ZAQB is a member of Fortean Times message board.
I decided to join, but the stuff where I have to prove that I am a human being and not a robot, did not load, and I was told to refresh the data to get it to load.
I'm using a Google Chromebook computer at the shack, and got some instructions for refreshing data, that did not work, and also a referral to the "store" for software
to accomplish what I need, and of course, being the tightwad that I am, I don't want to have to buy any software.
I also tried to sign up at the public library computer, and ran into the same situation.
Anybody here got any ideas on what might be the problem, and how to solve it?
I've never run into this before on any other message board.
Thanks in advance if anyone does have any answers.

In case anyone is interested, I finally succeeded in getting signed up with the Fortean Times message board.
I just wondered if any of you other ZAQBers had visited that board, or joined it?

Nah, this is about the only board I ever bother visiting anymore. I lurk at the CHFB and one dedicated to Halloween, but even those I only pop in once in a month or two, maybe. That said, I am still strongly considering a subscription to Fortean Times magazine. Mainly because the two large booksellers in the area are kind of hit-and-miss stocking it. Ain't cheap, though. |

Thanks for the reply, Dr. Kobb. The webpage has an awful lot of varied stuff on it, but my search for the Doomsday Prophetess predicting The End for March 16, 1965 turned up Nothing.
I suppose the only thing I can do is join Newspaper Archive, but they don't just come out on their webpage and tell what their membership fees are.
It will take a lot of hard work that I don't like doing to get some answers about them.
On the other hand, if I did have access to the newspapers I want, I wouldn't at all mind doing a lot of Hard Work to find some of the things that
I am interested in.

No, Dr. Kobb. I just heard the kids at school, and one of the teachers say that they had seen the woman on TV, but I never did see her on TV or read any newspaper reports and all these years have never found out any details about her.
Before I depart the physical vehicle, I would like to learn some of the details aboutthis woman and her followrs,who were plannign to survjive whatever catastrophe was going to kill everyone else, by ridiing it out in a cave with oxygen taknks O(rememberthe roger comrman film last woman on earth, where some disastwer causing an apparently temporary lack of oxygen all over the planet earth is survived by soe some people who were underwaterl, breathing thru their scuba oxygen tanks"?)

I'm continuing to check out the Fortean Times message board. Like the Village People sang in YMCA they have evrything for Everyone (not just young men) to enjoy on the board, and people who really know their stuff there to enlighten me, and anyone else who wants to know about esoteric things.

You've not given us an update on the Classic Horror Film Board in a while. Deeky, I am basically posting Dave Szurek's film reviews to that board. Also, started a thread on Parker's new book, The Wrold Beyond, a tv show fromm an arizone station that showed sf and horrif films for was it 20 or 30 years. Parker, recoreded audio of the bumpters and opening and closing narrations of this show, called the world beyond, and one guy used Parker's audio to create a slide show, I will post a link to if anyone is interested. Also Parker's book has oistings fro all of the films shown on The World Beyond many with reviews. People have been so nice to me, I am truing to do njice tings for Parker and Dave, who hopefully had his catarct surgeries last week and this week, and is making a good recovery, and can continue to enjohy watchjing and reviewing films, and hopefully get onto CHFB so he can join in the conversations there himself, without my having to be his go between. |
