There's so much to do on this new ZAQB, and one thing that needs resurrecting is the BAD RONALD thread. Film clips are scarce, and the entire feature was taken off of utube, by copyright holder's demand.
But,I've found one fairly brief, and fairly long clip from the film, 6 mins or so, and it has one of my favorite scenes: What happens to the nosy next door neighbor. If any of you members here don't remember Bad Ronald, here is a good scene to start with.

Ah, yes! A personal favorite amongst the crazy TV movie offerings of the era. Right up there with Horror at 30,000 Feet and Don't Be Afraid of the Dark for sheer "WTF am I watching?!?" mania.
What was the name of that one you turned me onto about the murderous boy at the military academy? That one was crazy, too.

Was that A Little Game?

Speaking of The Horror at 37,000 Feet, all three of these airline disaster films were directed by the same guy. He deserves a retrospective.

Thanks for answering Dr. Kobb's question for me, Deeky. And, Dr. Kobb, thanks for asking it and reminding us all of another great Twisted Kidder film.

And, Dr. Kobb, thanks for asking it and reminding us all of another great Twisted Kidder film. Didn't we all get copies of that at some point and watch it at the same time?

Ouch. It's way too early in my day for that sort of Billy-think, mister.

Deeky, I think yo are correct in saying that. I think it was back in the days of the Mez board, and we discussed Dr. Kobb getting the film, and his sending copies to aid in the discussoion of it. I might have some of those posts saved to CD, and will be on the lookoukt for them. I remember posting a lot of screen grabs from the film to the message board.

Yeah, I remember you going full Oreo Big Shot with the movie stills for A Little Game. I honestly don't even remember our group-watch idea. Did it work out at all? I seem to recall the thread making it to a few pages, anyway.
But as entertaining as A Little Game was, for me it doesn't reach the heights (lows) of Bad Ronald. Granted, part of the appeal for B.R. may be due to actually having seen it as a creepy kid myself back in the late 70's. Can't count out the nostalgia factor. Have you seen the relatively recent horror flick The Boy, Billy? Aspects of it are similar.

Dr. Kobb, I have not seen The Boy, but am always open to new Twisted Kidder films.
And, don't know if we've mentioned it before, but years before Bad Ronald, Scott Jacoby was in another film where he played an even more dangerous and lethal twisted kidder than Ronald.
This one was titled, Rivals. It is a Must for Twisted Kidder fans.

Here is a link to an essay titled, "In Defense of 1974s Bad Ronald." www.comingsoon.net/horror/news/749116-defense-1974s-bad-ronaldI suppose that it is a "defense" of the film. I tried to read it, and found it very boring, even trying to skim thu it, I don't think I even got to the end. Others might think differently and like what the author of this defense had to say. It appears from the title, the author is defending the film itself, rather than the character of Ronald in the film. Actually, I feel that Ronald might have a defense in that he was provoked into the accident that resulted in his problems, by a horrible little girl, Carol Matthews, who went beyond hurting Ronald by calling him weird, then, adding the fighting words, "and so is your mother." After pressing the "create post" button, I might read, or try to read the essay again, and probably give up on it, and move on to other more interesting things. The rest of you who might read this post, just Do What Thou Wilt.

I read the essay, every word, from beginning to end, and found it a great piece of writing well worth my time, despite the length of it.
I even went to the trouble of posting a link to it to Classic Horror Film Board Forums, where my script of the film has not been updated for two years now. Hope this "Defense" of the film gets some interest both here on ZAQB and on CHFB.
