That is a good way to out it, Goldie. Just when I started to reply, lyrics from Sweet Mary by Wadsworth Mansion, "Sweet Mary I'm coming home," went thru my head, but after that no lyrics, just the song title, Anabella, which I've posted on my favorite music videos thread.

Superman's flying theme from the old 1950s TV show.It never had any sung word lyrics, but if it did, I think it would have just bee "Superman,Superman, over and over, like the 1960s Batman song.

The weird thing is, there's a tune playing in my head right now, but it's not one I recall ever hearing. Am I crazy?

The weird thing is, there's a tune playing in my head right now, but it's not one I recall ever hearing. A3m I crazy? The damned site is befrigged. Sorry this is posted in the middle of your post, Kobbers. The page keeps leaping around when I try to add to it. For one thing I was saying that David Bowie used to write all his songs that way. He'd just have an unfamiliar tune in his head and go from there. So you might really be onto something...EDIT: FIXED IT.
Also: The band is BOYS Don't Cry, Not BOY'S Don't Cry. Jesus

The Boys Are Back In Town by Thin Lizzie. Really great lyrics.
And, congratulations again to Goldie on being a Doomsday Prophetess.
Haven't listened to the Goodbye Yellow Brick album track yet, but will do so.

OK, here it is, and this version does include the lyrics "down at Dino's bar and grill / the drinks will flow and blood will spill," which were not included in the lyrics I posted below, but which I do intend to add.
The Boys Are Back In Town
Thin Lizzy
Guess who just got back today Them wild-eyed boys that had been away
Haven't changed that much to say But man, I still think them cats are crazy
They were askin' if you were around How you was, where you could be found
Told 'em you were livin' downtown Drivin' all the old men crazy
The boys are back in town (The boys are back in town)
The boys are back in town (The boys are back in town again)
You know that chick that used to dance a lot Every night she'd be on the floor, shakin' what she got
When I say she was cool she was red hot I mean, she was steamin'
And that time over at Johnny's place, Well, this chick got up and she slapped Johnny's face
Man, we just fell about the place If that chick don't want to know, forget her
The boys are back in town (The boys…

I confess I always wanted to be a Doomsday Prophetess! Glad to find that out, Goldie! The Doomsday Prophetess in India who started her predictions in 1964, that the World Would End except for her and her followers who stayed in an Abandoned coal mine, on either March 15th or 16th of 1965 was named Juanita Coomer, for anyone who wants to pursue her predictions further, back to the beginning in 1964, if the press took notice that early. I plan to do more newspaper searches myself. And, it was very nice of Webmaster Deeky to use list Doomsday Prophetess as a member ranking.

Goldie, I just listened to Elton John's All the Young Girls Love Alice, and it didn't sound familiar to me, so maybe it was the firstime I heard it.
I want to read the printed lyrics.
I had seen One Night In Bangkok on TV probably at least once and while I remembered it, it has never played in my head and I don't think that All The Young Girls Love Alice will have that effect on me, either.
But, I'm glad to know what songs do stick in other peoples' heads.
Right now, I'm going to get the complete lyrics to The Boys Are Back In Town.

Alice and the rest of the young girls have gotten stuck in my head on numerous occasions. That's exactly the kind of song I was talking about earlier that cuts against Lion King Elton.

No idea if you remember Reggie Dwight's appearance on The Muppet Show --not sure what drugs he was on at the time, but he was SOOOOO pissed that his "Elton" shtick had to go up against actual furry puppets...I think he was about a half second from breaking out with 'Jamaica Jerk Off' --and might have, if the show were being broadcast live, instead of taped.
