I just checked out the IMBB reviews of this film, and there are 9 total, rather mixed. It is a film that I would like to see.
As I've said previously, I did miss it when it played locally, but became interested in it when Castle of Frankenstein reviewed it in their Movieguide of issue #16, july, 1970, page 53.
BEST HOUSE IN LONDON,THE (97 mins.--MGM '69). Mildly diverting Victorian era sex comedy about first mid-London whorehouse, with a room for every sexual predelectopn: The Wrestling Room, The Bluebeard Room, The Gothic Room, etc.
SF angle features swell MASTER OF THE WORLD type airship. George Sanders walks off with whatever acting honors are to be had.
David Hemmings (dual role), Joanna Pettet, Danny Robin. Dir Philip Saville. Metro-Color.
Leonard Maltin, in TV Movies and Video Guide 1990 edition said:

Boring comedy about group of government officials in London who sponsor official bawdy house. Although the film didn't deserve "X" rating it got at the time,
some of it will probably be trimmed for TV, if anyone cares.
In addition to the film having an SFantasy angle with the airship that COF mentioned, it also had a horror angle, with Jack the Ripper being active at the time of
the story, and the house being opened to get the streetwalkers off the streeet and safe from the Ripper.

Thanks for checking, Dr. Kobb. I don't know if you are interested in the story behind Confessions of a Teenage Peanut Butter Freak, but the guy behind that film has quite an amazing life story, being in porno for a long time, and coming thru it relatively unscathed.
His name was Zachery (forget this surnmae), but he acted in and directed porno films of all types for many years and today he is retired and has enough money to Do What Thou Wilt.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army at a young age, but went Absent Without Leave, and served a prison sentence, where there was a lot of brutality in the prison.
He and his first wife both worked in porno films together, and after they finally divorced, they remain friends, and he says they have a better relationship as ex-es than when they were married.
He's now writing a novel.
I'll get the link, if you or anyone else here is interested in an incredible life story.
As young Billy, Robert Rimmer thought he was not much over the age of 18, but he was very much older than that and had so much life experience behind him, that you wouldn't believe he had gone thru all he had endured in his life, and could still appear so young, although in his scenes as the older Billy, he did definitely look his age.
I still want to see Adultery for Fun and Profit, which I'm hoping will turn out to be a real winner like COATBF was, a film well worth the wait for both of us to see, I'm sure you'd agree.

Well, that is just what I did, and after many hours, I had to make myself leave the webpage and have not gone back because I had other thins to do. For the Gays among us, and also of interest to bis and straights, too, is the story of Centurions of Rome, and its backer, and how he got the money to make the film, is also incredible. Strange segue from the original premise of the thread, but thanks nonetheless for the link/backstory for the guy that brought us possibly the best named porn film of all time, "CoaTPBF"! That's cool to hear he had some military background, and that he and his wife were both in porn. Not sure how often that happens, and even though they didn't stay married, it's cool that they are still to this day on amicable terms. Hell, great to know that the guy is doing well in his retirement days, for that matter.

Yes, I know the thread has gotten off subject, and I still have to watch the final 15 min chapter of Henry's Night in, among other things.
I've got some kind of gizmo that the TV cable company brought by when the new law makinig digital broadcast TV mandatory, and while the device did work,
and I used it on occasion, that has been very rare, and when I wanted to see local news reports on the hurricane, I plugged it in, and it didn't work.
I had the output from that device put into the input of my VCR, and had forgotten where to put the output cable to my old fashioned tube TV set.
I don't know if the gismo is suposed to have the indicator light red, or green when it's working properly.
I'll do a net search. Probably already said I found some newspaper reports on Brother Dave Gardner's misunderstanding with the Atlanta Police Dept, but have just been too lazy to post them here, and if I did who gives a s--- about the long forgotten spiritual leader of the beat generation, anyway?
Bought a newspaper today, and was surprirsed sunday newspapers are no THREE DOLLARS. Wanted to check on road conditions, because I want to get backc to a town where I get my big paychecks, that was flooded, along with the highways. (I now remember telling Deeky about this via PM, but haven't told the rest of you).
Pulled the chain on my ceiling fan, and you can guess what Murphy's Law ddi: after the motor started, the chain broke, and I had to turn the fan off at the circuit breaker, loosing some of my living room lighsts that were on that circuit. That was going on a week ago, and today I finally bought a new switch which I have the dreaded chorse of attaching the hot wire, and the three different speeds wires to. So, I've got a lot going on in my life, and if I never see Best House In London, or the original French versionn of Summer Heat, or that one with Horst Bucholtz, and Danielle what was her last name, in that nude clench I posted the photo of, I wont' be missing anything all that great in life.
