A conversation at work got me started on this mini-project, which has taken the place of the Birthdays Project (started to clarify what percentage of serial killers are born under each astrological sign). I just added "Police Truck" by the Kennedys to the section on antisocial behavior.
Does anyone have any titles they would like me to include?
I am looking especially for songs on sensory issues -- the only one I've been able to find so far on sensory defensiveness is "Canary In A Coal Mine" by the Police.

The Freeze have recorded entire albums about mental illness. Some highlights:

I suppose you could include "Institutionalized" by Suicidal Tendencies?

Alice Cooper's "The Ballad of Dwight Fry."
"At Least It Was Here" by The 88 - otherwise known as the theme song to Community - is probably about suicidal ideation ("I can't count the reasons I should stay/One by one they all just fade away").

Van Halen didn't necessarily write about mental illness. Though of course they tried to nudge-nudge-wink-wink with the album title "5150".
Their album "Fair Warning", however, took its cover art from Kurulek's The Maze, which he painted while in a mental hospital.

The first thing I thought of when I read Fishface's original post was The Freeze. Santo's here for one day out of a hundred and he fucking scoops me.
Insanity Defense did a song called 'Pilgrim State,' the title track of their really great LP, which is apparently about a famous hospital in Brentwood, NY, the town they're from. The song seems to make references to Messiah complexes, but I'm not sure as to what it's actually about.
