I already knew there were a LOT of post-apocalyptic movies out there. I've seen most of the greats like "Escape from New York", "The Road Warrior", et al and quite a few of the cheap knock-offs (did a whole Hypno on `em). But I decided on post-apocalypse-themed movies from roughly 1975-1995 for my fanzine contribution to the SFPA on my return to the fold and I am positively gobsmacked at just how damned many there really are! I've collected 40+ movies thus far for the project!* I was only intending on maybe 3-5 movie write-ups per issue (with the rest being given over to the traditional comments and replies to other member's writings or other stuff I want to discuss). So, averaging four an issue, I'm in for at least ten. That's about how many I was able to get out last time I was involved. Had a lot of help bulking up those issues from a writer pal while I was busy just trying to keep my job those days, though.
*These are all previously unseen movies for me. It's a soft rule when I'm doing movie write-ups to always focus on ones that aren't past watches.

Ahead is a list of apocalyptic films in that time-frame (`75-`95) that I have already watched. Most of these were pretty good. I'm a tad apprehensive about most of the ones I chose for future fanzine viewings, however. A whole lot of Mad Max rip-offs.
Black Moon (1975) The Ultimate Warrior (1975) The Late, Great Planet Earth (1975) Logan’s Run (1976) The People Who Own the Dark (1976) Damnation Alley (1976) End of the World (1977) Wizards (1977) Dawn of the Dead (1978) Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) Mad Max (1979) Virus (1980) Mad Max 2 (1981) Café Flesh (1982) Blade Runner (1982) 1990: The Bronx Warriors (1982) Stryker (1983) Exterminators of the Year 3000 (1982) 2019: After the Fall of New York (1982) Night of the Comet (1984) The Terminator (1984) Day of the Dead (1985) The Quiet Earth (1985) Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) Radioactive Dreams (1985) America 3000 (1986) The Seventh Sign (1988) Akira (1988) Miracle Mile (1988) Hell Comes to Frogtown (1988) Millennium (1989) Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1990) Delicatessen (1991) Body Snatchers (1993) In the Mouth of Madness (1994) 12 Monkeys (1995)

I had no idea there was a 5th installment! That's a franchise where I've only ever seen the original film.

Glass earplugs? For sleeping? Interesting... Doesn't exactly scream "comfort", does it? It doesn't even scream "useful." I mean, WTH.
