November 22nd is National Tie One On Day, referring neither to bowties nor drinking binges, but honoring women who work in the kitchen to provide for their families.
It is also National Jukebox Day.
AND, most fittingly of all, National Cranberry Day. My personal reccy is that you add chopped dried ones to your oatmeal-walnut or oatmeal-pecan cookies. Or add them to the slow cooker when you're roasting meat. Also: make sandwiches using leftover spiral ham as the bread, adding either cranberry sauce or cranberry relish as the filling. So good.

Yes, I will be doing bird day alone, but I'm perfectly fine with that. Half the time I used to show up at the family feasts frazzled and shell-shocked from weeks of impossible amounts of perishable goods arriving and nowhere to store them. Just the fact that I'm not facing that shit this year is glorious and what I have to be thankful for tbh. That must be weird having your birthday on Thanksgiving, though.  |
