Is that from the movie? I'm sorry. Not picking up on the reference. It's a line from Raising Arizona. View Attachment Thanks for the clarification.
Last night:
“A Dark Song” (2016) Best if you go in cold (knowing as little as possible) like I did, so I’m not going to comment on the story much. I suppose this might be lumped in with what some term “elevated” horror these days? It also could be classified as “folk horror” in some respects. The IMDb categorizes it as Drama/Fantasy/Horror, and that’s quite accurate. I liked how it took its time as things build towards an unusual, fascinating ending. Nice bounce back, viewing-wise, after “Humongous” the other night.

"The Greed of William Hart" (1948) last night. Based on the infamous Burke & Hare grave robbings (and eventually murders) and set in Edinburgh's slums for most of the action. Really sordid tale where everyone is an alcoholic and wives are routinely beaten. I have to admit, I have not seen enough Todd Slaughter films, but aim to correct that. It was difficult for these American ears to make out all the dialogue thanks to the thick Scottish brogue. Part of the issue there may have been because the producers of the film originally used the names Burke and Hare and had to go in and change the names to Hart & Moore throughout. Henry Oscar was really good too as Moore.

I like them all, including both seasons of the TV show. They are a guilty pleasure, like the Final Destination franchise. I know a lot of both film series' are not very good awful, but I guess I like the premise enough that I enjoy seeing how they explore it. Same with zombie movies and TV. Most of it is garbage, but I'll always give it a chance.

Well, I viewed my eight and last Halloween-themed movie to night with "On Halloween" (2020). Why do so few clown horrors succeed? Lots of people are at least a little skeeved out by clowns, but so few movies make it work. All I can think of off the top of my head are "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" and "It".

"Last Voyage of the Demeter" (2023) and "Cobweb" (2023) earlier. Both solid. I'd heard a lot of guff about The former, but we liked it.

"The Bay" (2012) - One of the best "found footage" horror films I've ever seen; and it's always interesting to see a director (Barry Levinson) not necessarily known for horror handle things. Killer Goldfish, if you have not seen this...you need to see this.

Mascots Sort of like Best in Show but with sports mascots. Worth a look? Does it mention Robin Lopez? He's an NBA player who constantly beefed with various team mascots.
