Despite the ghosts, I hear its not really a "horror" per-se. It's more a murder mystery than a ghost story. There just happen to be ghosts in it. But many wonderful moments of horror!

We saw "Dracula Has Risen from the Grave" (1968) last night, followed by most of "In Search of Dracula" (1975), which actually held up well as a documentary on vampire folklore after all these years. Did you know that vampires can have sex but that babies by vampires are boneless? I didn't. Doesn't that make them all...gooshy?

WHAT?!? Oh sure...I was the only one thinking that.

"A Boy and His Dog" (1975) was a whole lot better than expected and an obvious influence on the Road Warrior movies and even Fallout.

Boneless Vampire babies, smothered in gravy. TEXAS STYLE! They'd be MUCH easier to fit in the slow cooker that way (but also much trickier to gut and peel).

"Damnation Alley" (1977) most recently, as I'm viewing a few apocalyptic films for some Southern Fandom Press Alliance pages I hope to produce soon. Haven't seen it since I was a middle schooler. Forgot how great it was. Couldn't figure out what accent George Peppard was shooting for, but he was his usual terrific self otherwise.

You know, I've only ever seen "Sword and the Sorcerer", "Radioactive Dreams", "Dollman" and maybe one or two others by Pyun. Never gotten around to "Cyborg". I should expand my Pyun horizons.
