Well, I made it through "Repossessed" (1990) with Leslie Nielsen, Linda Blair, and Ned Beatty. Love Beatty, but no idea why he was second billed under Blair. Nielsen had a much larger role. Kudos to Blair for reprising her role as the possessed girl, now a young woman. Not much to recommend it besides that. Tries for that "Airplane" level of wacky sight gags and rapid-fire puns. Just feels clunky though. Took me three separate tries to finally finish this.

I went on a "House"* kick after Deeky had mentioned a while back that he'd seen the first one. Turned out I had already seen the first and second ones before, but it was still fun revisiting them. Watched the third installment "House: The Horror Show" (1989) last night. Even though it's a totally different vibe than the first two, still good gory fun.
*Not the TV show or the Japanese horror film.

I also watched "The Magic Christian" (1969) the other night. Didn't really do it for me. Oh, it had some shining moments, but all-in-all was kinda bored. Great damn title, though.

I know I saw Magic Christian ages ago, but I don't remember a damn thing about it, other than Mr. Starkey's presence.

Saw an episode of HBO's "Barry" on Marxo's recommendation. Crazed antics as a murder-for-hire goes absurdly wrong. After seeing so many YouTube clips of Bill Hader cracking up during SNL broadcasts, I had to imagine the guffaws in between takes on this thing.
Also saw "House 4: Home Deadly Home" (1992). It's not on par with any of the previous three, but I don't know that it was as awful as the marks it gets on the IMDb.
Also, "Crimewave" (1985). A weird attempt at a crime/comedy that doesn't quite pan out. Sure, it's got Sam Raimi directing and the Coen Bro's writing, but that shouldn't automatically guarantee it decent marks.
Here's probably my favorite scene from the "Barry" episode:

Alot of times my enjoyment in a watch depends on my mood sitting down to a film. The right night and I might have thought "The Magic Christian" was the best thing I'd ever seen.

I know I saw Magic Christian ages ago, but I don't remember a damn thing about it, other than Mr. Starkey's presence. It has it's moments. Raquel Welch as the whip-wielding task master on a slave ship rowed by topless beauties was enough to raise it a full extra star out of five in my estimation. The painting purchase only to destroy it was memorable, too. Ringo gets to mumble some whimsical lines throughout, but Peter Sellers only got to shine a couple of times in his role.

The standout moment for me, at least right this second, is Christopher Lee as the ship's vampire.

I watched "Port Sinister" (1953) and "Journey to the Lost City" (1960) here recently. The former was great considering the B-film budget, and the later was great because Debra Paget.

Oh, I also watched "Love Duro e Violent" (1985) recently. It's an Italian mondo documentary whose title translates as "Hard and Violent Love". I watched the English version, which features even more grotesqueness than the original Italian. As with any good mondo movie, pretty sure some of this was staged, but there's also some tough surgical procedures to squirm through, among other cringe-worthy fare. Of course, nowadays you can see atrocities online committed to HD video, but there's something still eerie about seeing this sort of stuff in weird green and orange tones from it's origins on VHS.
