Finally got around to this after years of hearing about how great is is. Was not disappointed. Granted, some of the plot is muddled, but otherwise solid 80's horror schlock.

The Predator An autistic kid summons a Predator and all heck breaks loose. I'm confused. Are Predator's on the spectrum or something? I can't keep up with the lore in all these different franchises.

Are Predator's on the spectrum or something? No. The autistic kid was human. 😆 Regardless, this one was a real train wreck.

"Next of Kin" (1982) was quite good, especially for Aussie horror. More of a mystery really, but lots of dead old guys under water propels it into solid horror.

"Warning Sign" (1985) was a well done, plausible look at a viral outbreak scenario from a research lab (that soon turns into a rage virus flick). Everyone in it was great except the lead for some reason. I've liked Sam Waterson in movies before, but he seemed to be in another film during this.

I have a VHS copy of that somewhere around here, but I haven't seen it in a looooong time. May have bought it when I was assembling a small collection of movies featuring actors from Homicide: Life on the Street (Yaphet Kotto in this case, although Waterston did appear in H:LOTS as his Law & Order character a couple of times).

Yowsa! Do you still have a working VCR? If so, bravo man!
Yeah, I went into "Warning Sign" cold and was excited when Yaphet Kotto entered the picture. He always lifts features just by his presence.

A couple episodes of "Ancient Apocalypse" and the new Neil Brennan stand-up comedy special on Netflix. Well this is odd. So, I'd heard some about the push-back against the "Ancient Apocalypse" show, but didn't look into it or anything. Well, the fellow who does the Netflix show is not a true archeologist and is known for some wild conjecturing. So anyway, I saw a couple of episodes and was impressed. But here's where it gets odd. I didn't watch the official Netflix ones, but a whole different "Ancient Apocalypse" show where dude doesn't even appear. The ones I watched are from 2021 rather than 2022. I don't even know if they are at all connected or not.

Wow, there's so much more to this than I remembered from seeing it on the big screen! Either they cut out a whole lot for theatrical release, or I was so bowled over by it initially that I lost a fair amount of information.

Yowsa! Do you still have a working VCR? If so, bravo man! Two, actually. Still have one also. But it's definitely getting long in the tooth. Debating if I should digitize the last of my 'regular' tapes collection so I can save it for any "must watch" films that didn't make it to disc.

Watched that strange "Skinamarink" (2022) movie last night. I think people have been hyping it in order not to feel silly for wasting nearly 2 hours.

"Jack Frost 2" last night. I have kept my pledge to watch a holiday horror movie every "season" for over 20 years now.
