"Vali" (1967) in the wee hours last night. Documentary on eccentric Australian artist/free spirit/occultist living in Italy. More of a snapshot than a true doc on her life. Fascinating viewing nonetheless. She had to have been an inspiration for artists like Stevie Nicks and Kate Bush.

Started in on the first two episodes of "The Last of Us" from HBO thanks to coworkers telling me I'd love it. It is good, but feels a little too real with the whole societal collapse theme and us in the meat world living 90 seconds away from it in real time according to the doomsday clock.

"The Boob Tube" (1975) - I've always been a fan of tacky TV satires like "Kentucky Fried Movie" and "The Groove Tube". Never heard anything good about "The Boob Tube" but decided to give it a try anyway. Well, it's bad. Real bad. But I stuck with it and no, it didn't get any better. I feel like I deserve some sort of award just for lasting through it.

Since the movie attempts to poke fun at soap operas, the theme song is called simply "Soap", and featured a soap-bubbly naked lady with a bar of sudsy soap over the credits. |

"In the Land of the Head Hunters" (1914) last night. Amazing document. I was in awe of some of the ritual costumes and authentic totems and longboats. Better played with your own soundtrack of choice than the one accompanying the film.
