If you liked that, Nate Bargatze: Hello World is also aces. Thanks! Am downloading now. Loved some of his Netflix specials. Didn't know he had any on Amazon. Got tonight's viewing lined-up now. That was good. His last Netflix special was not quite up to his usual greatness, so this was a welcome delight.

Just finished. That was great. If you liked that, Nate Bargatze: Hello World is also aces. Are there any other Amazon comedy specials I should look up?
Some comedians I've enjoyed include: Anthony Jeselnik, Jim Gaffigan, Patton Oswalt, Bill Burr, Mike Birbiglia, Bo Burnham, Neal Brennan, John Mulaney, Tig Notaro, Kathleen Madigan, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few.

I don't watch a lot of stand up, so it's mostly an anomaly that I watched two in one weekend. But I'll ask friends what's good.

That being said, I was at the filming of Gary Gulman: The Great Depresh and it was outstanding. The finished special is supposed to be really poignant.

Krull I really don't know, something about swords and sorcery, but also space aliens and lasers?

Krull I really don't know, something about swords and sorcery, but also space aliens and lasers? I don't remember if I ever actually saw that, but back when my father/stepmother/brother/sister lived in Windemere, a small town outside of Orlando, the local convenience store had a Krull machine, and we played a lot of it when I visited.

Juniper and I watched the Sydney Lumet version of 12 Angry Men the other night, and it occurred to me that if the movie were remade today, I wouldn't buy the Lee J. Cobb and Ed Begley characters being capable of the moments of self-reflection that ultimately change their votes from "guilty" to "not guilty."

Finished "Prime Evil (1988) last night. Really enjoyed Roberta Findlay's "Lurkers" and "Tenement", so had high hopes for "Prime Evil". Wound up being another weak, late-to-the-party cash-in on occult horrors like "The Omen" or "The Exorcist". Wasn't rooting for the evil, but was happily surprised when the love interest bought it during the third act. It's also one of those movies where the name of the film comes up during a conversation, which is always cute.
Also watched the phenomenally awful "Things" (1989) on Joe Bob Brigg's The Last Drive-In TV show. Good damn thing, too. I'd have never made it through that without his notes on the production. I still couldn't figure out wtf was going on though. Here's a the IMDb synopsis: An impotent husband, driven by a fanatical desire to father children, forces his wife to undergo a dangerous experiment. The result: the birth of a multitude of monstrous THINGS.

Oh, we watched "Cocaine Bear" first. Of course it was bad, but it wasn't as bad as I'd feared it would be.

Yeah, that's actually one of the only recent movies I kind of think I'd like to see. Lots of interesting people involved.

Yeah, there's deliberately cheesy and then there's satire, which is what the CB filmmakers were apparently shooting for. (Hence, my hopes.) Elizabeth Banks has a lot of cred with me owing to her many fine appearances in assorted early 21st century alt-comedy endeavors. Add Keri Russell, Margo Martindale, Isaiah Whitlock, music by Mark Mothersbaugh... seems worth an hour and a half.

I watched "Our Man in Havana" (1959) two nights ago. Excellent comedy/drama with a cast of Kobb favorites.
Last night was Richard Elfman's zany "Aliens, Clowns, and Geeks" (2019) which was largely a disappointment. That said, Rebecca Forsythe, Steve Agee, French Stewart, and Vern Troyer were all good. Agee was so good, I'm seriously contemplating purchasing a chicken costume and some Bubba teeth for Halloween.
