It seems strange to me that I'm just finding out about countries like: Andorra; Anguilla, Ascension; Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba; Comoros; Curacao; Eritrea; Faroe Islands; Kiribati; Montserrat; Nauru; Saint (St.) Kitts and Nevis; Sao Tome and Principe; Tristan da Cunha; Wallis and Futuna Islands at nearly 60 years old.
Seriously, as far as I can recall, I've never heard of any of the above ever being brought up in any media, be it news or fiction, that I've been exposed to. Granted, most of these are countries which our postal service will not even deliver to. So I'm assuming relatively small and/or uncivilized places.
This all came about while I was looking up country price groups information on Japan for a letter over an ounce, you see, and now my entire world view is shook. I figured I would have at least HEARD of every country in the world by now. I wonder if any of them are even members of the United Nations.
A lot of them aren't! They may not have heard of the UN for that matter, because what do they care?

They're nations in the Caribbean or, in some cases, the South Pacific.
A few are still UK Commonwealth nations, or islands that are part of larger countries. UN membership is a little more time to look up than I have right now. C'mon. 21st Century here, my friends...

Wallis and Futuna = French overseas territory (colony, really) in the South Pacific. So, UN member under the name "France" seems likely --though I'll accept I'm wrong if I am.
Pretty much nowhere on the planet now that Europeans or their descendants haven't ruined in one way or another. So it goes...

There's blue liqueur named after Curaçao, presumably where it was invented. ![](//storage.proboards.com/3406594/thumbnailer/NTOfVEeAOnUHbYliirwi.png)

Quick note to all to address any head-scratching about Lemmyassholishness.
End of semester. Still not advanced to candidacy in my program (half-expected, since attending part time makes things like scheduling comps hellish).
I am going to be one grumpy reptile, prone to snarliness, pissyness and general leftist* dickery through the 11th of the month.
First: I apologize for the forgoing in advance. Second: I will do my best to rein it in, but sleep-deprivation = reduction-in-executive-function Third: It's be over soon
*It should be clear by now that my political views tack well to port. I'm usually more "life is short, if nobody's being hurt, live-and-let-live" about most (not all) stuff, however.

Of course, sometimes I'm also just an asshole --though as a lizard, I technically have a cloaca.

Not at all. I've been scarce here last few days because I've been busy sending out the new Hypno in the Postal mail. That and the NBA Playoffs are really heating up. Both could go on for another couple of weeks easy. The zine goes out to approximately 70-90 people any given mailing, and many of those deserve lengthy written replies and responses about whatever projects they send me, be it music, movies, fanzines, mail art, lengthy letters, etc.

They're nations in the Caribbean or, in some cases, the South Pacific. Eritrea and Andorra are the odd ones out, though. Eritrea split off from Ethiopia in the early 1990's, while Andorra is one of those itty-bitty European micro-states, like Monaco and Vatican City. It's in the Pyrenees Mountains, on the border between France and Spain.

I went into Rite-Aid today and the girl had a hard time giving me change. Asked the manager to change some $100 bills for her. I asked if a lot of ppl paid with that denomination and she said, "Yes, the main thing we sell here is beer and they always pay with $100 bills when they buy it."
"That sounds like a lot of beer," I said and she said, "It is. It's a LOT of beer."

I really didn't know which thread to put this in. It's the clubhouse for the Vikings Motorcycle Club. It's practically right across the street from my PO Box. There's two head-scratching parts to this. One is that it's an all-black club...called The Vikings. Two is that I have it on good authority that this is solid Outlaw MC country. The second part is cleared up a little because I believe the two clubs have some sort of alliance. I've seen several members of both clubs/gangs in our store at the same time, leading me to believe they had probably just gotten finished with a ride or a meeting or some other shit that motorcycle groups do together.

I've never thought about this before, but now that you mention it, it does seem weirdly plausible that Pensacola, of all places, would make a good-faith effort at doing "separate but equal" with biker gangs.

Historically, motorcycle clubs have rarely been racially integrated. Some of the newer-ish ones are, or attempt to be, but the "classic" outlaw biker groups aren't. I've heard of cross-racial alliances between clubs. I've never been able to figure out if this reflects a similar phenomenon in prison gangs --it seems like it might. No alliances there, usually.

On an unrelated note: I miss trail riding. At some point I might look into something like this: I'd need to learn more about street driving, though, since I won't be able to trailer it out. The technique is different enough that I've gotten myself in a few near-scrapes.

Saw an ad for this stuff yesterday while watching an NBA Finals game.
I swear that sounds like the 'street' name for a drug; which I guess technically it is.

Skyrizi is the origin of my idea that every new prescription drug could also be a rapper's name. Skyrizi featuring Pitbull... Ozempic featuring Pitbull... Tremfya featuring Pitbull... ... and so on.

The reason we see all of these drug ads for medications that only used to be advertised in medical journals is because the drug companies finally realized what the dealers have always known: you gotta take your product straight to the people.
