This just hit me a few minutes ago. I was looking up the Ann Arbor serial rapist on OTIS to see if he was still alive and boy, has he aged. At least his dad and son are no longer in the slammer with him. But I was looking at his offenses and it hit me: I lived in the neighborhood where he was raping people, regularly walked right past one of the crime scenes on my way to work. One of his surviving victims was a friend of mine. A co-worker visited one of the other victims in the ER. And the unique surname of the woman he killed made clear that she -- who died right across from my mom's house -- was also a cousin of mine, if only by marriage.
So now I'm wondering why Coral Watts has always bothered me so much more than Ervin Mitchell. This guy was closer to me, a much more active danger, in every way. What is that about?

You all ever switch your mouse to the opposite hand to give your other hand a break? Man, it feels so clumsy doing basic browsing now.

Because yeah...

But honestly, it feels totally uncoordinated scrolling with the other hand after using the one exclusively for 20+ years of computing.

But honestly, it feels totally uncoordinated scrolling with the other hand after using the one exclusively for 20+ years of computing. Well, it is, unless you're ambidextrous... Far from it. Quite left-hand dominant*. Just never bothered to switch it up. For whatever reason, certain things are seemingly easier with my non-dominant hand. I'm exponentially better wielding scissors with my right hand, for-instance.
*Is right/left-brain/hand dominance still as big a deal as it was back in the 70's/80's? Or has psyche work moved on from such simplistic concepts?

Hand dominance hasn't changed a whit. They don't talk about brain hemisphere dominance the way they used to, but it's crucial in certain therapies even now.

It's wild to think how incredibly popular Duran Duran was back when I was in my twenties and how they're virtually unmentioned and unheard of anymore.
It's like - "Dude. You're not old, you're OLD!"

I feel like if things were the opposite and the Earth was cooling, humanity would have all sorts of ingenious ideas for solving the situation.

Odd weather tonight. It's been hovering high 40's-mid-50's all day today, but is expected to rise to 64F by 11pm tonight. Presumably due to the storms passing through. Pretty comfy though. Me, cat and dog all have our nooks and are just taking it easy while listening to Steve Roach and the rain pitter-patter outside.

Broke out my Mallwalker 8's for the first time in probably over a year. Felt great for a dog walk. For whatever reason, they became excruciating to wear for a whole shift on the retail sales floor. Like my knees would be screaming at me. I guess that advice that it's good to change up your footwear every so often is true.

I wouldn't be surprised, either, if the kinds of foot support that work for sustained walking are completely different from what you would want for sustained standing more or less in place.
