Spent a few hours today rehanging some Halloween stuff I'd taken down due to the hurricane, plus, got some other stuff up:

VERY cool.
What does everyone think of me making mummy-head meatloaves for the Halloween party at work? I have a skull muffin tin and I thought strips of bacon going across might serve as bandanges.

Sounds delicious and do-able. Be sure and take pix of the outcome. I should probably be glad that my work doesn't do a Halloween party.

You should probably start a tradition!

I have in a sense. I always put in months in advance for Halloween week off.

I never realized that the Bald Mountain sequence contained topless women:

That sequence almost single-handedly made me the horror fan I am today. I saw it when I was in second grade and it struck a chord with me.

Seems to me the re-mastered rerelease around the turn of the century censored all the objectionable parts of the movie. There's nudity in the original centaur sequence too.

It wasn't nearly as menacing as that, but, on the way home from the supermarket, I passed a big spider that someone had put by the curb. I meant to try and circle back later with a camera, but I didn't get a chance, and I suspect it'll be gone by now.

I'm kind of surprised you don't have a cell phone.

Way cool! Regret to inform that the bacon bandages did not work out at all. All they did was make the muffin tin boil over with hot fat, leaving the resulting skulls looking soggy and unimpressive. They were not cool enough to take a picture of.

These things are always hit-&-miss. I wonder if there's an alternate way to cook it that might work to achieve the desired effect?
Most of my Halloween ideas flat don't work out. In some cases they do, but don't look nearly as impressive in a photo as in person. Right now I'm almost ready to abandon my eyestalk plant-monster creation. I think it's been my longest-running plan for this Halloween. But getting the tubing stalks to remain in place has been problematic. I'm already resigned to it not looking as I'd imagined it, but I'd still like it up within the next week.
But yeah, I'm overall happy with the cage spider. The original plan was for a regular human skeleton in the cage, but I like how this came out alright.

I wish there were a better place to stop along Grand River and I really wish I were a skilled cellphone photographer, but here are 2 fine items I spotted today:

Those are both epic! I'm only just now seeing more Halloween stuff up in area yards, but it's mostly just the perfunctory carved pumpkins and lights. Maybe a grave or sheet ghost. Nothing that put serious thought into it like your fellow Michiganders.
