Wow, Search Party started off as a variation on the detective genre, and now, by the end of the second season, it's veered completely into hardcore noir territory. I'm not sure if they've renewed it for a third, but I sure as shit hope so.

Because I'm a lazy nerd, I've been finally going through the Clone Wars Star Wars cartoon on Netflix (I'll watch Rebels after. Apparently both are canon to the films). Boy, for a kids action cartoon about laser sword wizards, there sure is a lot of plots focusing on diplomatic negotiations. Like, more than 75%. Plus, the episodes that focus on the comic relief characters like the droids are just as dreadful as you'd expect. The action is more than a little badass however.

I binge-watched about six episodes of a show about eccentrics (called "The Eccentrics") on Netflix. Was fun, and rather than being condescending, it was uplifting, consistantly reaffirming the theme that we should all follow our dreams (no matter how kooky).

Did anyone catch the new season of Peaky Blinders? Man, it's really gone downhill.

I am only a few episodes into Comrade Detective and it's like someone created a show just for me.

I tried watching the new Mystery Science Theater show. Oof. Did no enjoy it at all. I liked it. Made me laugh some, anyway. Dunno if it'll make it back for a second season, but I'll tune in if it does. Of course, I'm watching the new Joel McHale Show on Netflix, so my opinion might not be all that trustworthy.

Juni! Stop by so we can go over The Americans. This is gearing up to be an a-one tragedy, but then, how could it have not? Four episodes in and Elizabeth has already killed someone (two someones in the last one) in every episode.
Plus, perhaps as inevitable as this was as well, seeing Philip transformed into an actual American is all the more astonishing to witness juxtaposed with the fact that, through Paige's training, Elizabeth is getting to embrace her Russianness like we've never come even close to seeing before.

I tried watching the new Mystery Science Theater show. Oof. Did not enjoy it at all. MST3K, should, like Famous Monsters, Leave It To Beaver, and how many other? media things, unique to a certain time, be allowed to Rest In Peace, and not tried to be duplicated in the present. I won't live long enough to read everything in every issue of the old FM, or to watch all of the MST3K shows, but I can enjoy them in what time I have left in this Vale of Tears (firstime I ever read that expression from Forry in FM), and I certainly don't have time to catch the new incarnations of these revived magazines and TV shows. I'm not saying reviving all of these things is bad, and if some people do enjoy the new versions, fine with me. But, look at what reviving FM did to Forry's legacy. With the lawsuit, it just drained his money, and the collection he worked so hard to accumulate and keep had to be sold, to pay the lawyers, and his Life's Work in this preservation was destroyed. Of course, the recent accusations and revelations that Forry apparently was a masher, or in today's terms, a groper, would have still tarnished his reputation, but if his collection could have been kept together, and put into some kind of museum for future generations to enjoy and appreciate, he would have realized his dream of what his Mission in Life was. Reviving Famous Monsters produced a devastating result we would have been much better off without.
