Okay, I have chosen names for the characters, so your credit will read as:
"The Deeky Twins and Myopic Kumquat Mayzshon as Laughline, Softsoap and Grubstake, the Three Strolling Philosophers"

"It is happening again. It is happening again." - The Giant Really thought I had a shot at finishing this one by the end of last year, but it's way, way better for my not having done so.
And then another one floated out of the mist...You can't access the insert art from there without buying it, so here are all three collages I made for it, the cover and both inserts.

Since I don't think I mentioned this before, the track that Deeky and Mayz can be heard on is 'Las Brujas, Part 2.'
Should anyone feel compelled to skip all of the other tracks that I poured my heart and balls into. /Whatta_matta!

I posted this Nancy Sumatra track a while back, but I've added a bit to it, mainly a wood flute solo for the funky interlude. Lurch

My friend Dom, fellow Nancy Sumatra veteran, has a home studio down in Austin, and he recorded a bunch of instrumental tracks a few years ago and sent them to me to see if I could come up with anything to do with them. I am finally in the process of putting some working demos together that should evolve into an at least three-song EP. This is the first demo I've finished. The project itself doesn't have a name yet, but I'm working on it. Noir

Love it! Do you speak fluent French? The mysteries of the Marxo never cease.
Also, I can finally record my voice onto mp3's. It's a rinky-dink headset in a big room, so sound quality might be shit.

Turns out quality is shit, which probably explains the great price on the headset. I used it to record me reading a contact's "goon newsletter" aloud. Kind of fuzzy and tinny sound to it. Ah, well...

What gooning news is there to share at this point?

What gooning news is there to share at this point? Not gooning as it's known these days. Just the random babblings of a crazy dude I've been corresponding with for a while.

Love it! Do you speak fluent French? Given how many French classes I sat through, I should be able to speak at least moderately well, but no, I am merely familiar with it. I also have a really good ear for pronunciation in foreign languages. But some of those rhythms are a fucking bitch. And there's so many more to uncover!

I don't usually post the lyrics of these things, but you should, nay, deserve, to see how stupid these are.
First, the original:
If you think nonsense is a drag And foolishness is not your bag Don't look it up x 4 But if your taste in written word Tends to the manic and absurd Then look it up x 4
If drivel ain't your stock in trade This is a song you should evade Don't look it up x 4 But if you're fond of gobbledygook Away from which you cannot look Then look it up x 4
****
The translated verses:
Let's start out talking about the fire It burned my hair off and I'm feeling blue So I bought a wig made out of cabbage With a leaf that hung down onto my cheek The wig was almost blown off by a breeze Which is bad because my head is grey Finally I decided to stay in my house And build a massive fortress made of cake
The rain was so hard that I lost an arm Afterwards they replaced it with a cat The whiskers sometimes make me curse But the hairballs always make me laugh Life would be much easier if I were a dog I would hire an army and pay them nothing Perhaps this shows that I will go very far To meet Naomi Watts for a roll in the hay
****
Et voila.

Second demo track from whatever the hell this project is called. Dom has offered no suggestions and I have been thinking of things that, to me, mostly sound more like song titles than band names. I'm taking suggestions. This may be the most misanthropic thing I've ever written. Face

Still a lot of re-recording and mixing to do, but this project is coming along nicely. In fact, here's the cover art. I feel like it still needs something, but I'm not sure what. In case it's not 100% clear, the name is Inane Asylum and the EP is called Triptyching.
