Test results are in. I do not have chlamydia, gonorrhea, or hepatitis. I do not have syphilis or HIV. So, yay, me! I shudder to ask, but is there a specific reason you just got tested for all that?

I'm sexually active, so I get tested for HIV every three months. I get a full STI panel once a year.

No. My insurance doesn't cover it. Which makes it $1300 a month. That's more than my mortgage.

I just discovered that April 4th is "Tell a Lie Day". Granted, that could be interpreted in much the same manner as "April Fool's Day". I just like how there's a day designated okay for lying. It's probably good that I won't be at work.

Hmm. Maybe I should get tested for STD's, too.

Actually, apart from a gal that comes down from Milton now and then, I might as well live on a deserted island, here.
But my principal source of happiness tonight is - my Orlando Magic have a genuine shot at making the post-season for the first time in six (or is it 7?) seasons. Even if we get swept in the first round, it's a big step up from an extended rough patch. I think the Magic have one of the longest playoff droughts in the NBA.

Holy shit! I just checked: We're suddenly in the 6th spot! That's crazy! We were battling for 8th (final spot) for the last couple of weeks. These standings are changing almost nightly, though, the race is THAT close between about five teams with only a couple of games left in the regular season. It sounds like we're on to the Postseason, though!

Will do. Today we didn't play, but the Nets won, putting them back in the 6th spot and bumping us back to 7th. That's how close this damned race into the NBA Playoffs is in the East this year. I'm just glad that we have a viable opportunity to finally get back into the post-season after six miserable years of "rebuild". We have a tough match-up tomorrow against the Boston Celtics in The Garden, and then one last regular season game the night after against a team we ought to be able to beat. We'll see.
In other hoops news - Got to watch the last minutes of the NCAA Final Four between Auburn and Virginia today. Auburn was up two with a half-second to go...and fouled a kid shooting the three. Which puts him at the line for three free-throws. And he nailed all three like it was a practice game or something. Even with a time-out called midway through. Must have ice in his veins. I was rooting for Auburn, but you gotta give credit where due.

The Southeastern Conference Champion Orlando Magic are on to the post-season with a win over the Boston Celtics earlier this evening. If the the Playoffs started today, we'd face Toronto, which is not a team we match up well with. I don't know. Everybody tells me whoever we play, we'll probably get swept (best-of-seven format). Maybe they're right. I can't wait to see what happens.

Co-worker made it through his 9-hour brain surgery on Monday. He'll be recovering in ICU until probably Saturday. Knowing him, he'll then come straight back to work...
