After almost five days of living in darkness, and with no heat, I finally have power again. Fuck you, winter. Deeky, glad you finally have the power back on. It's very bad not having any heat during cold weather. |

I managed to create a half-hour mix from the 11 films discussed in the upcoming issue of Hypno Video. I didn't want it to be overlong. Came out decent enough for a first effort. I really do need a new program instead of Windows Movie Maker, though. It's good enough, but I hear there are more user-friendly ones out there.

Am I the only one secretly wishing it was Anton Lavey? I thought it WAS Anton LaVey.
I rather wonder whether one isn't based on the other. And whether both of their personae aren't based, as Choco so rightly points out, on Ming the Merciless.

Considering Ming's first appearance in the comic strip was in 1934 as a definite "Yellow Peril" villain, he's probably the real mccoy (the movie was fairly comic accurate for his look besides the lemon yellow skin). Antares there is definitely at least ripping off his outfit.

OK, after a shit-tastic March -- especially that last week, holy fuck -- I decided to treat myself to some new exotic flowering houseplants. I agonized over whether to buy a pricey Stapelia schinzii var. angolensis but decided to cool my jets and just get the sphincter-on-a-stick plant I'd been wanting, Huernia zebrina. Well, the box arrived yesterday and to my astonishment, the eBay seller stuck a cutting of the selfsame Stapelia I'd been wanting into the package as a bonus freebster.

No silly! It's No Housework Day today! It's like a day actually marked as a free pass from feeling obligated to attempt to fight the mess. I would be breaking with tradition if I were to so much as dust the blinds. I'm obligated as if by some time-honored oath not to do anything today.   So, if you haven't already done any work around your house, today is your day! And it's only 1:20pm here. Still plenty of time for me to accomplish absolutely nothing! The most I'm up for is laundry, and the machines will do that for me. Folding can wait, so I don't feel like I'm breaking with the sacred No Housework Day code. |

I love the blatantly observable holidays the most. Ones that I can and will strictly adhere to. "Masturbation Day"? Well, if you insist! "Chocolate Day"? I'm there! "Nap Day"? Check. "No Housework Day" feels like playing adult hooky from school or something.  |
