The Mystery Machine came out and the guy appears to have unmasked the possessed water meter: the last guy who came out attached a meter meant for 1" pipes to my 3/4" system. So it thought the number of gallons was drastically higher than it is.
Less than an hour earlier, the appliance guy came and and said, well, your Samsung washer's almost the only one that HASN'T been recalled in recent memory. Turned out it quit on me because the floor slope was so steep that the machine thought the load was unbalanced. Took 5 mins to adjust the feet. No parts, no labor.
I sure am lucky sometimes. I thought I was going to spend my vacation week emptying my savings account to pay for house repairs.

I haven't seen our resident possum in a few. Hope she's okay. There have been a LOT of cats around these days and I'm not staying up quite as late as I used to, so there are a few factors.

It's been a couple of weeks since the above post and what do you know? Saw a cute little possum waddling away from the outside cat food bowl just last night! Not sure if it's the same one as before. Looked smaller (I only saw it from the back). |

Looked smaller (I only saw it from the back). Even in captivity a possum only lives about 4 years, max. But they are quite fertile. |

So, I've always heard that possums are generally harmless to humans. What's the deal with them and cats, though? You know the kinds of bullies cats are. Yet they tend to let possum saunter right up and eat out of their food bowls like they own the place. Heck, I saw a short video on Reddit earlier today of a possum just chilling with a bunch of cats in somebody's rescue pet garage.

Haven't had much luck finding decent pix online, and I'm not the jailhouse detective that Billy was, but someone was able to cough up this shot of the old Cordova Mall theater. This was the theater that I saw classics like "Jaws" and "Star Wars" at (along with many others) back in the day. How would you describe the architectural design?*
*Sorry it's not a shot of the entire place.

My Orlando Magic are defying everyone's expectations. Last game we beat the reigning NBA champs, this game we beat the team with the current best record. It's still ridiculously early in the season, but I picked the perfect year to be able to see Magic games.
