So, with a day to go (tomorrow), the only pressing thing I was hoping to attend to on this short time off from the grind was to nudge the next issue of the print thingee that much further along. I already had the writing done, and after my favorite call-girl left, I got right on with it. Took a few hours due to a sickly computer, but I saved back a bunch of pix for possible use and created clips from all eight movies for a short disc to go to readers wanting a small sampling of the insanity.
With that out of the way, I can feel fine about the time off regardless of whether I waste the entire day tomorrow or continue to strike while the iron is hot and finish the next issue up.

Well, for what it's worth, I'm not overly proud of the fact that I went the pay-for-play route, though the time was well spent and it indeed made me happy, as per the thread title.

Happy to be back after a week offline. A little downtime from it is never a bad thing, but it's nice to be here and a handful of other places again.
Also happy that the air conditioning thing turned out to be a non-issue.
So, still checking systems here at the labs, but we seem to be a "go".
