This could well be the head scratcher of the year and it's only Feb 4th. Someone asked at my garden app for a flower identification and I said it looked like bidens. She went on a total rant and said she doesn't want to hear any jokes about that guy because "that country is a mess, it's being invaded." I assured her that I seriously meant to ID her flower as Bidens and it wasn't a political joke. She got on her high horse, said my country was under attack, and called Joe Biden a war criminal and said the 3 dead soldiers in the Mideast are payback and what did I think of the truck convoy, 700,000 trucks protecting America from Mexico, huh? Huh? She even said she couldn't wait until Trump got back into office to sort the world out. By this time I'd looked at her profile and she's all the way in fucking Australia. I just tried to set her straight -- look, seriously, only a few cars and trucks showed up and there was no invading horde when they got there -- and why are you so hot under the collar about our US political squabbles anyhow? Waiting for her answer. It might be quite entertaining.

I was about to go on a similar (mock) rant about the undocumented butterflies and bees in the area in reply to a post about bidens on Nextdoor a couple of months ago, but realized it would be probably be taken incorrectly and decided against it.

So, this individual never responded so I went ahead and posted a photo of Joe and Hunter Biden walking together and labeled it Bidens, meaning the flower. I tagged her and said, "If I wanted to make jokes about bidens (or Bidens), this is what it would look like! And it is not political at all, just a play on words lol." She responded thusly: "Would you kindly unfollow me. I have done the same. You are harassing me now and I'm reporting you." Reporting me for what, you dumb bitch? I am so stumped. |

I may have mentioned how my subdivision is bordered on the northeast by a cemetery. They have a very springtime/Easter-looking sign up saying now's a great time of year to purchase a plot. I dunno. It just seems rather ghoulish to have a best time of year for that sort of thing.

(My God, what is she, 6 years old?) I pointed out that if it were in black and white they would have had to call it SOYLENT GRAY...

I was just in an online conversation with someone about SOYLENT GREEN and she said it was an old b/w movie. "Or maybe not, maybe one of the first color pictures," she said. (My God, what is she, 6 years old?) I pointed out that if it were in black and white they would have had to call it SOYLENT GRAY... Just... THEY HAD THREE-STRIP TECHNICOLOR IN 1938!!!! Two-strip is even older! And that mad, failed contraption with the spinning orange and green filters in front of the projector lens came out in 1913! The French got really good at hand-tinting in 1899! |

Someone left bags of stuff at the base of my book box today. Looks like the leftovers from a yard sale perhaps. I guess they couldn't bare to just toss the stuff they couldn't move into the trash. I'll pick through it and see if any might be of interest to anyone in the book box. The rest might just go in the trash. I don't even know where the nearest donation center is to try to give it away to a good cause.
