I'm at the diner and the lady behind me, having a Texas wet burrito and speculating on who voted for whom in her circle, just used the most interesting expression: "flaming-red liberal." She's showing a lot of nuanced analysis that I wish others in this benighted county would try out. Why WOULD a guy who worked on the assembly line for the UAW all his life vote for Trump? Why, indeed, would someone with 2 gay kids, rushing to get married before dipshit cam outlaw it, vote against LGBTQ interests? She also said she likes using the mail-in ballot because she can study it, set it aside and then revisit it. Who is she? Where did she come from? AND WHAT IS A FLAMING-RED LIBERAL? People on the right often conflate liberalism and communism. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? Wait, the same people who think Putin is a great American leader? |

I was just in the drive-thru line and found myself, not for the first time, stumped about why anyone would order chicken nuggets drowned in so much sauce that they get served with a fork...WITH added containers of another unrelated sauce? Diablo 4-alarm chili nugs with ranch dressing, man, or garlic parmesan nugs with Bleu cheese dressing. I can't make sense of it.

I live close to a church and every Sunday they run the bell as the service is letting out. OK, so I heard it at 10:30 today...then 11:30...then again..and again...every hour or so...and it just rang again at quarter to 5...
...and I just remembered it's Saturday, not Sunday.

I live close to a church and every Sunday they run the bell as the service is letting out. OK, so I heard it at 10:30 today...then 11:30...then again..and again...every hour or so...and it just rang again at quarter to 5... ...and I just remembered it's Saturday, not Sunday. I lived near a Catholic church for years as a renter and they would at times have special events that would apparently call for the bells (on unexpected days). It is apparently Adoption Day today, so maybe your church was celebrating that? It's also Expresso Day too, and maybe somebody got all jazzed up on the bean and wanted to ring some bells? |
