I tried on my new Halloween sox for the first time today. Both of them are right feet. Now I'm wondering if the prophecies are correct and they will make me a better dancer. Unlikely as I have a broken ankle atm.

I just got an email from this message board saying "Where have you been? We miss you!" For fuck sakes, I'm here at least 3x a day. I mean, it's nice that you all care but I'M RIGHT HERE; CAN'T YOU SEE ME?

Unlikely as I have a broken ankle atm. Ack! How'd you manage to break your ankle? Kitteh ran between my feet when I was putting away the laundry. In trying to keep my face from hitting the corner of the desk, I rolled the ankle. I thought it was just a sprain at first. Fond hope, too quickly banish'd.

Like, I knew it was an automated thing, but also I'd been thinking about how I've missed you guys since I quit using social media, and it just felt like serendipity, y'know?

Today at the benefits-enrollment meeting there was a presentation by the United Way branch in this county. I wrote it down when they said 5% of the county is in poverty, a 5% increase over last year. I assumed immediately that they meant there was NO poverty in the county last year, but after I looked at it just now I wondered whether poverty has increased just enough so that we are now all the way up to 5% poor people in the county, rather than going up from 0 to 5% this year. Because the latter would mean a 100% increase, right? I suck at math.

I would interpret the announcement to mean that the poverty rate in your county was a bit under 4.95% last year.

I saw an ad on my phone, imbedded in a Temu ad, for something called Pokémon Sleep. "Discover your sleeping style!"
I'm stumped. What point could there be in this great new iteration of Pokémon?

Only one way to find out! Embedded in a Temu ad screams quality to me.

I was behind a car with several bumper stickers earlier today. All Disney-themed. I swear the one that was supposed to read "DISNEY PASSHOLDER" looked a lot more like DISNEY ASSHOLDER due to poor design. I'm thinking a crucial color on the sticker might have bled out or something. Sorry I didn't get a snap of it. By the time it came to my attention the light had changed.

I would assume bleeding out is something an assholder is meant to prevent.

Glargh! Turns out that simultaneously laughing/vomiting is not a good idea.

I'm at the diner and the lady behind me, having a Texas wet burrito and speculating on who voted for whom in her circle, just used the most interesting expression: "flaming-red liberal."
She's showing a lot of nuanced analysis that I wish others in this benighted county would try out. Why WOULD a guy who worked on the assembly line for the UAW all his life vote for Trump? Why, indeed, would someone with 2 gay kids, rushing to get married before dipshit cam outlaw it, vote against LGBTQ interests? She also said she likes using the mail-in ballot because she can study it, set it aside and then revisit it. Who is she? Where did she come from? AND WHAT IS A FLAMING-RED LIBERAL?

People on the right often conflate liberalism and communism. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
