Here's another. I just got my "bed bridge" kit to convert my set of twin beds into a king. But here's the thing: included in the kit is a TRAVEL BAG for the kit. Apparently they imagine someone might travel hither and yon, converting sets of twin beds into kings wherever they go.
Who would ever want, or need, to do this?

Even Motel Six only has king-sized beds, though. Do they? Yes. You get a choice of either one or two king size. The only twin size bed is the rollaway, and there's no room to strap two of those together even if you move the other beds over... |

I was killing time before an appointment and Googled for someone I haven't seen in person since the 1980s. To my astonishment, it says she now has a degree and works for Children's Protective Services. Last I heard she was living in an overcrowded apt full of losers just like her, waiting tables but just enough to buy dope. The last time I talked to her, in the 1990s, she was absolutely no different from the Dead End Kid I remembered, still talking constantly about getting high and trying to manipulate you any way she could. Could she really have finally pulled her head out of her ass?

I was musing about all the times over the years people have asked me if I am former military. I must have a "look" or something. Granted, I am in a VERY military-centric area. We have bases for every branch in the immediate area.

My favorite manifestation is a news aggregator aimed at black conservatives (<Nichelle Nichols voice> Sorry-- neither </NNV>) called "Thy Black Man." Perhaps they know their business better than I do, but it seems to me that asserting possessorship over "Black Man" has certain implications, right?

As we all know, there's an entire universe of increasingly loony conspiracy theories concerning the assassination of John F. Kennedy. And somewhat less famously, there's also a loony conspiracy theory that Marilyn Monroe's suicide was faked to cover up her murder by the Kennedy family in order to prevent her from going public about the affair between her and old Johnny F. So how is it possible that I've never encountered a loony conspiracy theory arguing that JFK was assassinated in revenge for having murdered Marilyn?
