And on Michigan roads at the end of winter, you don't want people driving half-asleep on top of the potholes, ice and slush. Today I had a family offer to come in for an office meeting because they knew I didn't have 4WD and their driveway was not navigable without it. The husband was fast asleep thru most of the meeting. Yoiks! Scary for sure... In bad weather here, I let T. (originally from Detroit) handle any of the driving...

See, I'd put that in the Things What I Learned thread, but, well, we just covered it here.
I've never given much thought to the political implications of the whole thing, although I know there are some. (All of life has them, after all.) To me, it's a small tax in the spring and a small gift in autumn.
When your summer temps are 100+ for weeks at a time, you don't add 10pm sunsets to the mix. Yeah, but it's a dry heat. And once the sun dips down past yonder mesas, it can get colder than a witch's teat at times.

Concur it gets chilly in the high desert. Dry heat kills you faster, with one exception I know of.

Looks like an old Perry Rhodan cover or something.

There is a lot going on there, all of it confusing.

Pretty obvious to me. Captain Yogi crash lands in Yellowstone while drones destroy his ship and migrants try to enter the country armed with spears and blow darts.

As a carnivorous lizard who formerly self-identified as "bearish", I endorse this message...

Did they run out of churches to burn?

Hey, people grow up. They learn to put down their blowtorches and start making cozy sweaters instead.

Also, I think that was confined to Norway.

The Finnish band in question may not even be black metal, for that matter. You have to have a Black Metal Union card to be allowed to burn a medieval church out that way.

This has been bothering me off an on for a week now. Is there any such thing as LOW-fructose corn syrup?

I'm not even sure it's possible.
