The temptation to play cruel April Fools corona virus pranks is only slightly outweighed by my determination to stay employed.

And what kind of April Fool's gag could possibly even get anyone's attention after the last 3 months?

Oh, something along the order of: "Did you hear? We're going to be under martial law!" or something along those lines. As it happens, the joke was on me, as the news broke a half hour prior to my arriving at work that the governor ordered everyone to shelter-in-place (which of course sent everyone into a frantic rush on the store all day).

Anybody remember that cryptic, middle-of-the-night tweet that DFIT made back in 2017? "Covfefe"? Supposedly, it was a mistype of "coverage", but it's not far from "covid", either. Just sayin'.

Right now? A pleasant "Friday night" high for me*. But when that realization came to me, I was still at work earlier tonight.
*I have Thursdays and Fridays off, so Wednesday is my "Friday night" in terms of my so-called weekend at work.

The similarity had occurred to me as well; it's just one of those wonderful little details we'll share about the weerd times when we get out of them, if such a thing is possible.

It's International Skeptics Day, but I kind of doubt it.

After Thanksgiving dinner at my sister's, my niece made mention of an axe murderer in our family line. First I'd heard of it, so my sister brought out my father's notes on that inglorious affair and more. Apparently an uncle in his 70's had himself committed. Then, after a spell, he decided he didn't like it, but by then they agreed that he had good reason to be there. Well, he found a chance to grab an axe from one of the groundskeeper's sheds and murdered his doctor.
I guess due to the lowbrow movies I watch, fam thought I'd find all this fascinating, but what really caught my attention were my Dad's notes. He wrote about all these family episodes and entanglements in pen with nary a mistake or misspelling. His command of the language was astounding. I mean, he was a head of the Navy's library program for years, and as part of his responsibilities brought home stacks of books (and galleys for soon-to-be-published books) which he seemed to effortlessly plow through. He was exceedingly well-read, but I'd rarely ever had the chance to actually read much that he'd written down for posterity.

OMG, I hope this made all the papers. What was his name? And the doctor's? And was either of them wearing a rabbit suit at the time of the murder?

Ha Ha! I should have known that bit of Kobb lore would whet your true-crime-buff chops. Sorry, my concentration was divided (it being Thanksgiving Day after-feast and all). I was trying to follow along as my sister read it aloud to several of us at one end of the table. She has the tiniest voice, I was just trying my best to pay attention, without paying much attention to specifics. I'm sure I could borrow Dad's notes from her sometime and get a better look at them.

I would be fascinated to hear all about it. That sort of discussion at the Thanksgiving feast makes me suspect we are closely related genetically.
